Gay-rights opponents sought to use the decision as a rallying cry.

"Today's 9th Circuit decision perfectly illustrates why, in November, we need to elect conservative legislators and state officials who respect our values, our democracy and Oregon's Constitution, which clearly defines marriage," said Craig Myers, a spokesman for Concerned Oregonians.

Gee, it sure sounds to me like the judge respected the decisions of the bureaucrats carrying out the will of the legislature. Those are the same people who scream about judges overstepping their authority when they overrule regulations that they like.
