A vile, disgusting decision! Wounded and shelter-less veterans are being treated as incarcerated slaves, and it's obvious even to a non-lawyer like myself that their status invokes 14th Amendment rights and the interpretation of military service as a "previous condition of servitude" in 15th Amendment, as with 1st Amendment rights.

Concerned and honest citizens should sign on to Veterans for Common Sense, which makes valiant efforts to obtain justice for veterans, and I can only pray that an order to the VA to allow voter registration can be tacked on to a spending bill in time. We can guess it is another case of Karl Rove-style political shenanigans, fearing the huge upsurge of veteran disgust for the Iraq War, a pantingly anticipated attack on Iran, and the perpetrators ("perpetraitors"?) in both parties from George W. Bush and Nancy Pelosi on down. Hopefully most of them and their designated replacement candidates will find themselves out of work this November.--a Vietnam veteran
