it is time to give this up and move on - go to college Avery and be happy - your parents are setting a bad example on how to resolve problems and be diplomatic in life. You were wrong, the principal was wrong - everyone has paid in some way - enough is enough here.

This spoiled, little brat needs a good spanking. When/if she ever grows up, she'll be one of those kooks who sues everyone and everything to get two things: attention and her own way. Get over yourself, kid.

oh. my. god. GET OVER IT. you're 16, which i recognize is a grey area between child and adult, but you've got to be kidding me. why are her parents continuing to humor her? this is disgusting. expel the kid and black list her from every school in the state.

Avery, give it up - move on with your life. Very few people even care anymore. If you keep re-hashing everything and living in the past, you will never be able to move forward. You are making it into a bigger deal than it really is - get over it.

Too bad she was never taught to respect her elders. If she had been, she wouldn't have been in trouble in the first place. She's only doing what her greedy parents and lawyer are telling her to do. The world is getting worse and worse. I echo Bill's sentiments above.

"The principal effectively does the same thing. Does she expect no consequences?" In a word: yes. The principal is a bureaucrat. School administrators are among the worst bureaucrats; witness the original case over juvenile behavior on the internet. Bureaucrats never pay. They push their responsibilities off onto the taxpayers. The taxpayers will pay for this bureaucrat's lawbreaking and the bureaucrat may miss her step increase for this year, but, in all likelihood, she will make it up next year by garnering some sort of other pay award.

I agree with those commentators who say that enough is enough. Both parties to this controversy made bad decisions and have already paid a price for those bad decisions. Now they should step back, take a deep breath, put aside their ruffled egos and move on with their lives. The only winners in further litigating the matter will be the lawyers. The losers? Why the local taxpayers of course who will ultimately have to pay those lawyers’ bills.

What do you suppose a typical dialogue is like for this Burlington family, say, at dinner time? "Hey, you bleeping bleep, pass the bleeping salt." "Ehh, go bleep yourself!"

MOVE ON, Avery. And GROW UP. Oh, and by the way, would the Courant STOP reporting on this non-story? That would help things tremendously. Thank you.

It's obvious young Avery didn't fall far from the tree. Just more thin skinned suit happy yuppies looking for the taxpayer to send them a windfall

More drama.. blah, blah, blah. This reminds me of the 90's when east coast/west-coast rappers would talk smack about rival rappers/groups. Who cares....
