Hey, don't blame all Catholics for the sins of a few. Every religion, faith, following, etc., has it's dark side, including the Christians, who invaded lands and killed people who didn't want to believe it their way!

Memo to Cardinal Mahony:
More than $600 million to settle sex abuse lawsuits in your diocese. Can we think of better uses for the vast funds you just had to raise?
How about: Alleviating the poverty of many Mexicans (so they won't have to come here illegally and have you provide "sanctuary")
Providing care for women with unwanted pregnancies, thereby reducing the demand for abortion.
Think about these squandered possibilities, sir, and you just might want to weep!

Mo money for Mexicans.. What they need is a sense of duty, and self reliance.
Show them thae way , but no more paying their way. It doesn't work.
The Church does not give much of their money to charity in reality.
But those chuches, and buildings,(Rectorys) vacations, maids and services they get cost alot.
Open your eyes wider.
