It's over, the market will collapse before November. If the everyday person only knew the numbers.

The real thing that needs to be done is just for the government to butt out of this, let the companies who made these unwise decisions go out of business, and to move on with our lives.

The fact is that these companies are NOT ones that we should be saving, if they were so braindead that they couldn't see these problems before they happened.

I know the numbers..... and I am really worried that this country is going to see it's second "Great Depression". Oh well, at least my parents and I have jobs that are pretty much Depression proof: them as MLT's, myself as a paralegal who has an astoundingly good track record.

The fundementals of the economy are sound!

Whenever trouble arises, I asked myself what would Reagan Do??

Of course! We need more tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy and to further deregulate the market so that God's invisible hand as described by Adam Smith can let the magic of the market work!!!!

These corporations and shrewd businessmen will create great paying jobs and the stimulus they give to the economy will trickle down on us all!!! Just give it time. It will work!!!

I wish you left-wing idiots would stop drinking that "middle-class" kool-aid and get with the program. When did joe six-pack ever create a job???

We need to stay the course and ignore what all the liberal media pundits tell you. Listen to Rush, listen to Fox News they'll tell you the truth!

Ummm, excuse me, but who controls Congress? It has to pass through them first. The Democrats are not exempt or blameless either.

Unless there is a fundamental shift in American Capitalism, predatory greed will kill the US and much of the world with it. The whole Government and Social apparatus seems to exist solely for the benefit of rich American businessmen and CEOs - their well-being alone is seen as the good of the nation at large. No one seems to have learnt a thing from Enron and other similar eposides. The role of MBAs, too, need to be put under scrutiny. Many countries are classified as being very corrupt, but what about the US where lobbying, greed and Corporate Corruption are so integral to the system that it's virtually accepted as legal ? What would justify Paulson's superintendence - there's obviously a case of self-interest here. It's like asking criminals to be in charge of moral policing.

This country does not have capitalism but a corporatist Oligarchy. They write the rules to Always favor them , they runs the country through their political drones that dumb people vote for, but Oligarchy hijacks the politicians via “legal” lobbies. It is a racket , or nothing is what it appears to be. It is fundamentally NOT sound ,opposite of what Bush says, there is no “fix” once average citizen realize how hollow this corporatist Oligarchy is , it will be finally over.
That will be a good thing so it can be built up correctly from scratch, till then work “without” credit, pay as you go .
