Bisphosphonate Side Effects: Cause For Growing Concern

My husband started taking this and started losing massive weight and kept having horrible pain episodes, and the oncologist just bold face lied! saying it wasn't the zometa, when he quit taking it for 3 months he started to gain weight. Now they wanted him to keep taking it again, and he has been just awful sick and bed ridden with horrible pain and losing weight! I knew it was this damn drug! This is freaking criminal and his femur has been killing him!

It’s ironic that bisphosphonates are prescribed to those who are suffering bone loss yet they may be the main reason for bone depletion. Such medication may weaken the skeletal system, making the patient vulnerable to fractures. Fractures, aside from the pain, became more dangerous than its usual implication after the DePuy scandal took place, with the number of hip replacement failures and lawsuits that came thereafter.
