Medicine and the pharmaceutical industry appear as the largest commercial organizations, opposite to the Hippocratic Oath. What can you expect from them!? People no longer trust doctors, who prescribe medication profitable to their organizations but not helpful to the patient.
In light of the global crisis, I imagine that if these industries do not recognize that in the forthcoming era huge profits will not longer be possible, then they will all collapse.
Necessity will force companies to start collaborating and sharing research. It might also steer them toward all being 'not for profit'. Either way, its becoming clearer that where the money is stopping, the system can either fail, or reevaluate what its true purpose is.
Once it was a true and noble industry - at least in its intention. In a mutually responsible society, things can be different!

Be your own patient advocate! Research everything. Talk to nurses, pharmacists, friends. These people don't get a kick back.

The judge should be checked for his membership in the Republican ALEC considering Tebow award. The minimal award should be 3 times the yearly gross for drug based on a 5 year period of time. 2nd offense should be 25 times the amount with the death penalitynfornthe CEO. If the judge is member of ALEC, then the award should start at 65 billion dollars plus 60 timeshare yearly gross for the drug.

I've been on Effexor from http://goo.gl/PJZwMF only one week but am cautiously very optimistic. Prior to this I was on citalopram but still feeling very low and sleeping poorly, feeling like I needed to be in bed 12-16 hours a day. Now I am waking naturally after only 8 hours sleep and finding it much easier to concentrate at work. I can hardly believe it is working so quickly but I feel so much better. I've had no side effects.
