I didn't vote for Obama, yet it was bush who made it clear we have no freedoms. bush destroyed our economy and gave our wealth to the rich. Obama has done nothing to repair the GOP damage. Putting the GOP back in power would make it worse.

The pesky government....the gall of them demanding that corporations give the damn freeloaders equal access.
What the hell is this country turning into?
Only the rich should have internet access and the govt. should stay out of it.

It is you who are a scumbag. An inside out one. Blame this mess on those who voted GOP in the last Congressional election. So clueless, you are.

The GOP just voted against additional government regulation of the internet. Only if you believe that freedom is bestowed upon you through more government regulations can you possibly beleive your own illogic.

The reality is that net-neutrality is a restriction of our traditional internet freedom for the purpose of corporate profit. Being given the choice of either government or corporate regulation; I'll take the one I vote on every time. You seem to be unaware of the corporate world; and its restrictions upon us.

If you do not like the practices of your ISP then you can choose another ISP that is net neutral or even start one on your own. You could even work with the network owners to purchase lower priority for your traffic for reduced prices, or pay higher prices for a higher priority connection. Perhaps things like remote surgury where speed and reliability are more important than your regular porn downloads. Thats freedom Government regulation is not a matter of choice. You might consider it fair for everyone, but thats not freedom. Are you starting to understand yet. Here is an example for you, many power companies are pushing for smart meters and different rate schedules for peak vs non peak times. Funny how coneheads like you like the same idea for electricity is good but somehow do not like it for internet traffic.

The big boys on the internet will institute 'metered use,' and we will have very little choice as you imagine. Personally, I will be doing neither remote surgery nor porn on my internet. Both seem too "remote." And, metered electricity is great for conservation. We obviously have very different ideas about reality. God Bless America!

Just the opposite, my idea of freedom allows for choice, competition, and innovation. You are mistaking government mandated and defined fairness for freedom. Life never was and it will never be fair. You may say you will not be downloading porn or doing remote surgery, but it is going to happen on the (your?) internet. Net neutrality forces them to have equal importance. Please allow that to seep into your version of reality. So in your world metered electricity is great for conservation because it reduces need for aditional capacity, but metered bandwith is not great for managing internet traffic although it would reduce the need for additional capacity. There is a word for people who refuse apply the same logic to two simmilar problems because they just don't like the conclusion they would have to draw. I'm sure you are very familiar with that word.
