Philadelphia's WPVI-TV boosts signal strength
A Philadelphia TV station has quadrupled its signal because some viewers were having trouble receiving the broadcast following the conversion to digital broadcasting.

We still don't get Channel 6. We are in NE Phila and our antenna loving friends don't get it either. We get all other channels very clear. Have HDTV Plus HDTV antenna. Not buying cable. Even with Channel 6 increase in signal strength, we don't get it. Neither do our neighbors.

We don't get the signals in Bucks County either. If WPVI doesn't get a fix by September then I guess ABC will be losing out in their fall lineup viewership. I'm not going out to buy a new antenna nor get cable. KYW and WCAU news works for me.

It is August 25 and we still don't get Channel 6... we get everything else... even Atlantic City... very frustrating... what's up? Are you working on the problem? Thank you!

September 5. We're in Medford, and we can't get channel 6. W run a new scan weekly, but still nothing. Very frustrating. When will this problem be solved?

We're in Cherry Hill, and we can't get channel 6. We run a new scan weekly, but still nothing. Very frustrating. When will this problem be solved? Every other channel comes in so I don;t understand by you guys can't get it together. I shouldn't have to pay a monthly cable bill just to see channel 6. Plus I'd rather go without than to deal with the horrid cable companies.

We don't get channel 6 with our converter box and rabbit ears...we get all of the rest...and love it...the new digital TV is great...3 versions of channel 12--gotta love it...but no channel 6 boo hoo....I want to watch basketball on Christmas....

Its Jan 1 2010 and we still dont get 6ABC on our HDTV in Willow Grove. All other channels work great. We have an amplified antenna which picks up Allentown stations but not Channel 6. I haven't watched any ABC shows since last summer, and I have watched more NBC and CBS shows as a result. I guess those advertisers are loving this setup !

We still don't get 6ABC on our HDTV. All other channels work great. I have watched more NBC and CBS shows as a result. But now Lost is back on and I'll miss the live broadcast, and have to stream via the net or something.

You have cable and internet and yet you have a comment for this topic. You should find better ways to spend your time. If you feel like paying for cable, kudos to you. |

I take a trip to Florida for a month every winter with the money I save from paying a cable or satellite TV bill. I think it is an individual choice as some people like to have hundreds of channels available but I found that for me it is a waste of money because there are only a few shows on cable that I really like and I could find better ways of having fun. I do miss having ABC for the local news and Jeopardy. I have forgotten what their prime time lineup was since it has been so long.

We are in Swarthmore, Delaware County. We got Channel 6 when the original conversion happened. But no more. We haven't been able to get it for several weeks now.(We use an antenna - no cable). What's up?

We just cancelled verizon fios to save money, hooked up our antaena and we have tried and tried to get abc it will not register. We are in perkasie pa ... Anyone have any tips

Start watching NBC and CBS more. I live in Warminster Twp. and have been without WPVI Channel 6 since the digital conversion. They are broadcasting in a VHF signal that a friend who lives 10 miles from the station can't pick up.

can't pick up channel 6 and live in South Philly. Oh well, if they don't realize that by now. who cares. i watch lost online. News is News.

June 2010 - Camden County ---------- still no ability to get WPVI (6) via Digital Tuner
bought new antenna, adjustments, scans. other stations come it but 6 - nothing but black. DTV stinks overall.
