The above link shows the states with English as the official language, as well as the ones who have not yet done it. I can't find the link, but there was a site that showed the states currently working on putting English as official language on their books or in their Constitution. More than half the ones who have not yet done so are working on it.

And while they receive these benefits on behalf of their anchor rats, do you really think the child is the ONLY one taking advantage of it? Of course not! The whole family is. They can get Section 8 housing based on the anchor rat. So if it's a large family, the state provides enough to get a larger house. Duh! The whole family benefits, not just the citizen. Children don't live by themselves, go grocery shopping, etc. Wake up!

California's nearly 3 million illegal immigrants cost taxpayers nearly $9 billion each year, according to a new report released last week by the Federation for American Immigration Reform, a Washington, D.C.-based group that promotes stricter immigration policies.

Educating the children of illegal immigrants is the largest cost, estimated at $7.7 billion each year, according to the report. Medical care for illegal immigrants and incarceration of those who have committed crimes are the next two largest expenses measured in the study, the author said.

Jack Martin, who wrote the report, said Thursday that the $9 billion figure does not include other expenses that are difficult to measure, such as special English instruction, school lunch programs, and welfare benefits for American workers displaced by illegal immigrant workers.

"It's a bottom of the range number," Martin said.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY - Figures from the Department of Public Social Services show that children of illegal aliens in Los Angeles County collected more than $21 million in welfare and more than $22 million in food stamps in March 2009 -- an increase of $1 million from the previous month, according to a news release from Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.
Annually the cost of illegal immigration to Los Angeles County taxpayers exceeds one billion dollars, which includes $220 million for public safety,$400 million for healthcare, and $500 million in welfare and food stamps allocations, according to the news release.

Twenty-four percent of the county's total allotment of welfare and food stamp benefits goes directly to the children of illegal aliens born in the United States, according to Antonovich's statement.

"Illegal immigration continues to have a devastating impact on Los Angeles County taxpayers," Antonovich said in the statement. "The total cost for illegal immigrants to county taxpayers exceeds $1 billion a year - not including the millions of dollars for education."

* Roughly 20,000 illegal immigrants are doing stretches in state prisons, representing 11 percent of all inmates. California absorbs about $1 billion in direct expenses while receiving about $120 million federal funds thus leaving an $880 million net cost to the state.

If your neighbor dropped off her 6 children at your house and you had to support them, how would that be fair to you? It might be just a small part of your bills, but it's money you could've put away to send your kids to school or to buy something for your kids.

You people should be taxed extra just to support your precious illegals, and if there's not enough to go around, then you get taxed additionally.
