Judged: 1 1 1 In Australia I don't think there'll even be an inquiry. Different approaches in different countries, I suppose; our politicians are sticking to their tried-and-true method of denying the possibility of a problem and we've already had Murdoch's people here defending the squeaky-clean state of our media in front of the cameras, that can be believed because they say so themselves, of course. No liars there...... |

I bet he never sees a day, or an hour in jail. Holder, on the other hand, lied to Congress about Fast, and Furious, and he could go to jail if Congress decided to bring charges.

Contrary to your point, the American government has on many instances denounced the role of Wikileaks. In fact, Assange is now involved in a trial in Sweden (and he is appealing against extradition there from the UK) for sexual assault (which many believe to be politically motivated), so it's not like he's getting away scot free either. |

Judged: 1 1 1 There are massive differences between what Assange did and what Murdoch and his underlings did. There are massive differences between the wealth and influence Assange and Murdoch wield over politicians and authorities. There are massive differences in intent. The two are not comparable to any reasonable person. Millions of dollars had been paid by News Corp to hacking victims to buy their silence. Who do you think had the knowledge of, and gave the permission for those payments? Spotty university-ground socialists? Militant vegetarians? Murdoch's crew should've been arrested years ago, the head coppers in Britain aren't resigning because they failed to stave off Communism. Bullshit. Osama nor anyone else are going to turn Fox News into Pravda. The differences between Assange and Murdoch don't need explaining unless you believe that people like Murdoch are a benign bunch of upper-middle-class hippies, and Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro are conspiring to take over Fox News through messages in screamo songs. |

If a person is going to mark this post as clueless, at least explain why it is. |

Judged: 1 did assange do it to get a story? did he pay off people to not stop him? and the fact that theres a dead whistleblower in the morgue right now who was suppossed to testify does not help your blind behind either. |

He won't go to jail. What did he do wrong that you can prove? He did nothing wrong.

Judged: 1 Common sense and a whole heap of events surrounding News Corp suggest otherwise. The reluctance of police and politicians to act now and in the past are as much proofs of innocence as the payouts to silence phone-hacking victims. There's a huge spider's web in front of your face and you can't even see it. |

Mr Murdoch will be the centre of attention tonight (Australian time) when he joins his son James and former News International boss Rebekah Brooks in front of a British parliamentary inquiry.
The appearance comes after another top-ranking Scotland Yard officer was forced to stand down over his handling of the News of the World hacking scandal. Assistant commissioner John Yates, who decided in 2009 not to reopen the investigation into the News of the World, had been facing calls for his resignation from the civilian body that oversees the force. His resignation came less than a day after Britain's top policeman Sir Paul Stephenson stepped down and Ms Brooks was questioned by police as the scandal continued to rock the UK establishment. ABC News 24 will have live coverage of the UK Parliamentary committee's questioning of Rupert Murdoch, his son James and Rebekah Brooks tonight from 11:30pm AEST. Am shitting in my pants..HEEEEEEEELLLLP. |
