You can't be on welfare for an extended period, and you have to work if you're able - I'd call them cuts.
There are also fewer Americans on welfare then there were before the new rules. I'd call that cuts.
My point was = Dems & a Dem prez followed through on a pledge - some not willingly.
They should get credit for that.

Sementics.
They didn't "cut" welfare.
The reduced planned increases they had already approved - the very same congress.
Go pat yourself on your back - no one else is going to.

'Semantics' perhaps? Or do you just have the word 'semen' on your mind? What do you expect from someone that can't spell a simple word. BC (with Congress) did cut welfare, it is a fact, even if you refuse to believe it. Now, go pat yourself on the back for attempting to carry forward misinformation about welfare. Misinformation (right up there with fear mongering) being the right's favorite tool for continuing to get elected.

In light of the revelations just this week that Cheney's office
itself ordered the forgery of one of the letters used to justify the
attack on Iraq, and with Conyers now ordering the Judiciary Committee
to come back from vacation to deal with this plain act of apparent
treason, there is nothing more patriotic we can do than to have a
serious discussion about impeachment and its imperatives. Indeed, it
is our duty to do so.

I know the truth - you won't accept it.
But you're free to prove that the world is still flat and man can do something significant about global warming (I'm sorry "climate change").
Man can't cause it and man can't "fix" it.

You do know how to jump from one topic to another when you feel the heat. You're pathetic.

What is so sad about your critical thinking is the failure to realize that if you are wrong (and I accept the notion that perhaps few people really know for sure) about global warming (and able to convince the majority) then your generation has doomed the planet, but if you are right (and everyone else has changed their way of lifestyles to produce less carbon) the only consequence is added cost and inconvenience (aka less selfishness) as we become more energy efficient and less dependent on fossil fuels. Long sentence, sorry. In other words, what do we lose by trying to be better custodians of the planet, other than selfishness? I'm not talking about YOU being selfish, but an entire subset of the human species. Or, can we afford to be wrong? It's a devilish problem. One answer costs money, the other answer may doom our species.

If you have read my posts - which I doubt you have - You would know that I think pollution is a serious problem, that we need to address our dependence on foreign oil and that there is evidence of "global warming". The three are separate issues and are NOT connected. Global warming would have occurred without any input from man. We can not do anything but adapt to the climate change as best we can. I have a "solar" home and do as much as I can to reduce my energy consumption. Even sold my boat and bought a kayak.... We all need to change to adapt to the changing world.

Well said above, but I was commenting on:

Yup - hard to believe - but I have little tolerance for people who won't at least discuss the possibility that man can not affect global warming. That we have to deal with it in smarter ways. As far as alternative energy plans - another of my concerns - is that we havn't done anything significant since nuclear power to avoid our dependence on oil. And it will take a LONG time to bring on anything significant to change our energy sources. It also seems like we forgot that pollution hurts us all.

He is no better or worse than Gore and matters about as much. The last Vice President to matter was Forn and that is only because he was finishing out Nixon's term.
