Schools about to start and now you want to shut it down? Where the heck were you in June? All the teachers had all summer to pull samples to be tested. These idiots way for school to start to decide, maybe we should close the school. Who came up with this idea, Teachers Union?

I understand there is a lead problem. But it seems like someone has sour lemons over losing the school board election in 2007 (there is a connection between Kelty and Buda you know) and now he wants to get even with the prior school board member who beat him by getting in trouble for not having the lead problem fixed and is now trying to sue the district and is saying their kid has problems now. Meanwhile. Where was was the problem when they were running for the school board? and Buda is in on the whole situation because he wanted him to win. They must be old buddies from the NYFD. See when you bring in this kind of under undereducated inexperienced garbage that just wants to take control of our district because their kids are in the school. They bring all these problems in and its only becase they are miserable. It's only because they lost the election. Get Buda out because he's a gossip monger. Hey Mineola-The leader of the high school was visited on 8-4-04 by a Nassau County DOH Inspector. This leader told the inspector that he was unaware of a lead and asbestos problem in the basement of ITHS. This leader has a problem-documents prove otherwise. Ask this fearless leader about the confrontation he had with the UTIT president This leader needs to go!!

After reading your blog, Mineola, I hope and pray that you are not a teacher in the district. Your writing prowess is best suited for an employee in the athletic department, an employee I might add hired via nepotism. I hope your facility with X's and O's supercedes your sentence structure ability.

Mineola, you are so right about Buda. I'm glad to see more people who see him for what he is, or rather isn't. Most people in the neighborhood know about the sour grapes people. They also know what a bully Kelty is. The district HAS been trying to fix the lead problem. They did what the DEC TOLD them to do. Did anyone think back then that a state or federal run entity would instruct them to do something improper? Should we go all the way back to Segerdahl days, who was the one by the way who did the original burying of the lead? What's the point of going BACKWARDS? I would hope that the taxpayers would like to go forwards for a change, certainly GET INVOLVED and let the community know what they really want done and how they want THEIR TAX DOLLARS to do it, because that is ultimately what will happen. Despite people's beliefs that "money from the state" will come in.(People consistently fail to realize that "money from the state" is still taxpayer dollars! So let's all get a collective voice, and find out the real facts, no inuendos or jumping on the bandwagon. Unfortunately, Buda and his cronies love the mob mentality, and seek newsworthy notoriety in order to keep their faces out there (it's called free publicity/aka campaigning) and when this issue goes away, they'll find more stuff. As you said Mineola, I can't trust a guy who claims to be "injured" with "breathing problems" when he lights up a cigarette and yet can canvas an entire neighborhood on foot when he's out there campaigning. I really wish people would open their eyes and stop falling for his "I was hurt during 9/11 nonsense". I'm so glad others see him for what he is. He's already abusing his "power" among his own neighbors. Truth be told, MOST of the board members don't try to do that kind of thing. They truly care about the schools and the kids, and they have decent, respectable families to back it up. Buda isn't one of them. Him and the Laurel & Hardy look alike just want to add this to their resume so that some day at their funerals someone will say they were a pillar of the community. If you're going to get into "public service" it shouldn't be self serving.

Kelty's kid has had hearing problems since at least elementary school. It's more sour grapes on his part. As for the board, don't fool yourself about being there for the kids, they're doing it for themselves and their kids. Being on the board is the only way to ensure that you get it your way and your kids get what they need/want. Some board members don't even have kids in the school, they sent them to catholic school, how's that for having confidence in your district. Some are just there because of the power trip.

Are you now going to insult the athletic staff because you are a skinny wimp? You probably couldn't carry a football if it was loaded with stolen quarters and you were headed for the bank.
