Teabaggers want to let corporations "self regulate". Like they did with bankers and traders on Wall Street. Sound familiar: Mar 16, 2011 At the behest of then-Vice President Dick Cheney, an exemption was inserted into a 2005 energy bill — dubbed the “Haliburton loophole”— which stripped the EPA of its power to regulate a natural gas drilling technique called hydraulic fracturing. Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) and state Republicans. The Ohio House introduced a bill early this month that would create a panel to open any state-owned land for oil and gas exploration to the highest bidder. This week, in an unreleased portion of Kasich’s proposed budget, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources would be given authority to lease 200,000 acres of state park land for oil and gas exploration. January 3, 2012 Until 2011, Youngstown had never recorded an earthquake. Youngstown, Ohio, had its 11th earthquake since St. Patrick’s Day on New Year’s Eve—a magnitude-4.0 on the Richter Scale, the highest to date.

"The Hypocrisy and Stupidity of the EPA-loving, America-hating Democrats." What, mercury is selectively harmful? How many BILLIONS of mandated mercury containing CFL bulbs will enter the environment? Who is stupid enough to believe that lazy consumers will dispose of them properly? But the Forbes author admits that he doesn't really care whether or not the EPA is right when he says "IS OVER-REGULATION EVEN POSSIBLE?" There you go, folks. That sentence once again fully exposes the arrogant, authoritarian political/social ideology of the left. :^)

I think we are closer to Christ's teachings than you are.

Do you scan the threads, looking for an opportunity to spew whatever is sloshing around in your brain at the moment? You must be sniffing mercury dust, because your non-sequitur raving strongly suggests a paucity of "little gray cells." If you possessed a few more, you'd recognize that I wasn't defending mercury; I was pointing out: 1) the hypocrisy of the left, which apparently thinks that putting mercury in mandated CFL bulbs magically neutralizes it. 2) The arrogant, authoritarian attitude of the left, which admits that it believes that "the EPA can't over-regulate." I bet you also believe that climate change is anthropogenic, Melissa. :^)

But Jesus was killed because he told the theocracy that paying taxes was not a sin. He also told everyone, often, that rich people can't get into Heaven, and teh richer they are, the harder it is. Try reading 2 Peter 2 also. You will learn all about the present-day GOP candidates, and also FOXLIES.

Saying that Jesus was killed because he told the theocracy that paying taxes was not a sin is a little misleading. The good folks of the Sanhedrin and the Pharisees certainly understood that under Roman law they had to pay taxes. And Christ didn't say it was bad to be rich- When money becomes an obstacle to your faith and becomes your surrogate god is where you have problems. There are plenty of Christians who have money, who quietly help those that need to be helped and who pay their taxes. Finally, 2Peter 2 should not just be analogous to the GOP as a whole, but to those politicians of any party who exemplify that behavior. Read again, refresh yourself with "..render unto Caesar..." and watch what happens next. And next. Be surprised by Jesus' amazing life, and His word.

And I agree about 2 Peter 2; and also say it is not just for politicians ( I believe St Peter was talking then about Saul of Tarsus) but today's GOP really does form an analogue for me.
