It shouldn't be a shock to any literate person, it's called "environmental racism". Corporate America and corporate India have long polluted poor communities, in fact, polluting poor countries and injuring the citizens of those poor countries for the benefit of the wealthier citizens and countries is just part and parcel of capitalism. There's nothing "new age" about it.

In turn, once the people become sick and diseased, health issues become big business for the corporations. I firmly believe that is one reason the U.S. in the past has not wanted to federally regulate a health care system. There is too much money to be made, when people are not well. It's big business for the institutions and the drug companies.
