House moves to halt Obama coal, gas rules

The Republicans want the return of smog and health risks associated with coal. The 1% don't care about whether the 99% die from lung cancer or 'killer smogs' while they play in their exclusive mansions among the remaining 'unspoiled acres'.

And of course, they mislead here. It is not a 'war on coal'. It is clearly a war on emissions. Coal can compete on an 'level playing field' with other forms of energy generation. There is no war on COAL per se.

Interesting that the oil industry is consistently funding a defense of the coal industry.

Sun Tzu would approve. Much better to defend your territory through allies beyond your borders. By keeping the focus on coal, Big Oil lies low while accomplishing most of its anti-regulation ends, and with more support from key coal-dependent swing states such as Ohio and Virginia.
