My heart goes out to those in Picher. The area was put on the Super Fund list in 1983! The super fund was created by taxes on the purchase of toxic chemicals and petroleum. Congress allowed the fees to expire in 1995 and by Oct. 2004 the super fund ran dry. The EPA no longer has the money to clean it up. SO SAD.
