Like, there might be a train in the desert? You, sirs, are idiots and I mean that in the fullest sense of the word. You do more to prove my points than I could ever hope to achieve on my own.

According to DBEDT, "Scheduled airlines seats to Hawaii between October and December are expected to drop 15.3 percent.". The 15% decline is worse than the previous quarters. Each quarter gets worse and worse. Definitely a down trend at an accelerating rate. The key question is: when will tourism rebound? The relevance to the rail project is that the train is to be paid for by revenue from GET and property taxes. If tourism continues to tank, two things happen: 1. The locally sourced revenue from tourism tanks too. Tourism is our biggest revenue earner. It if goes south, so does a big chunk of projected financing. Hard to sell bonds in a devastated credit market when the revenues are sinking. 2. The piece of the total rail cost paid by visitors diminishes. That means a bigger share of the financial burden falls on residents. Remember the mantra, "the visitors are paying a large share of the rail cost." Well, apparently no more. Both conditions are bad news. Combine that with an expected devaluation of house prices and property tax revenue looks weak, too. Unless rates are raised through the roof, like maybe 40%. Will this situation turn around? If so, when? Why does the Mufster refuse to address this and show us the draft EIS' projections of revenue? If the City projects a turnaround of revenue, let's see how they came to that conclusion. If they do not see a turnaround, how will we pay for rail? Key questions we need to ask before a vote.

Economists predict that after a hitoric drop in the stock market that we just had, it would take 20 - 30 years to return to our previous highs for the Dow Jones and the S&P 500 indices. Can u homeowners, and I know u arseholes are reading these msg bds, but r too timid to post, can u homeowners pay yer mortgage based on all time high RE appraisals from which u got yer refinanced mortgages from? Jobs are drying up, MoooooOOOOf-me is taxin' yer arses dry, and all u got in yer corners r Punani Juice and Spam Guru spouting off their stankin' wiggly tongues like frogs from Hell!!!!!!????

Hello where have you been? News Flash! Aren't all citizens of the US supposed to pay Federal taxes too?

Mufi is once again caught on the wrong side of the track. This just-posted Honolulu Advertiser article states that federal funding is not a done deal yet for rail and that the earliest the city will know is 2011. http://www.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/200... However, Mufi wants to break ground in 2009?!? Now that's taking a big gamble. It's like starting construction on a house when you have not yet secured the financing. Mufi hopes Honolulu will get federal funding. We'll, hope is not a smart strategy and the results would be disastrous for Oahu residents. Even if we get $948 million in federal funds, where's the other $5 billion coming from? I guess we need to raise the General Excise Tax and Property Taxes. Either way, the taxpayer gets screwed while Mufi gets to build his "legacy" train that will primarily be used by bus riders. This is yet another example of Mufi's selfish political ambition and his lies to the public about his flawed rail project. Wow, Mufi's actions are becoming more and more despicable by the day. We all know who NOT to vote for come election day. It should also be Mufi's Judgement Day, too.
