He won't be around to control the property taxes years from now. guarantee taxes increase. for everiy dollar we make, a very high percentage of our money is hi-jacked by our government. I'm still voting for Mufi because he is a better candidate than Kobayashi. He lies but not as much as his opponent. use to believe in mufi, you called it, he is a liar. with everything going wrong in our economy, all he seems to care about is rail, rail, & rail. If mufi really cared for Hawaii's economy, would he still be pushing for rail? mufi knows our economy is not getting better, but yet raised GET to pay for a multi billion dollar rail. Did he stop to think about what is really needed for our economy? What good is the rail 10 -12 years from now ? when we need solutions now, without costing billions. Steel on Steel, huh! like in aloha (rust bucket) stadium. that was not suppose to rust? where is the company who designed & built it? Uh! Huh!now we are`stuck paying to fix it from our tax payment to the state. kobayashi? still weighing the pros & cons.

Nexus wrote: <quoted text> The ads you are referring to are done to comply with Federal requirements. Do you have proof John Desoto is getting paid? And for what? The City Tax Payers, should also had a say when it came to the commercial & ads. Why ? because it is being paid by "City Taxpayers" Were we given the choice to spend tax money on commercial & ads? No! Could have the money gone for alot more important needs? Yes! Do you know who is making money everytime pro rail commercial or ads is played ? I know it's not tax payers. LOL Even if it was done to comply with Federal requirements.

Kailua Resident wrote: <quoted text>Your incorrect. Bonds will not issued as part of the rail project. The GET and fed funding is more than enough to cover the cost. Uhhh! you need to get your facts together. Federal did NOT guarantee assitance (we are not even on their list for rail) gov't says GET for rail, not meeting yearly goal.

Look at how the international economy is suffering along with what's going on in our own back yard and the Mainland. Despite this financial despair, Mufi still wants to build rail even though the price tag would be heavy enough to sink the Big Island. Talk about selfish political ambition! Rail is a Mufi re-election campaign that will give his contractor/union buddies jobs who will give him lots of campaign donations for higher office project disguised as a traffic reduction/transporation improvement project. Mufi's not fooling us and at least we can do something about it on Election Day. It's ABM come Nov. 4. Let's do the right thing and dump him and his train.

So are you claiming there is omething in the air that prevents us from using rail if given the option? Do you belive sick people need leeches too? Its about making it atrtactive and affordable for people to use - and the market is taking care of the second part of that equation. affordable ? attractive ? In whose bank account ?

You lose either way, loser. prove it, follower of Pied mufi Piper ! You are right, "you are full of it" rail will not help now, with how the economy is going now.

The financial study that was done by the anti-rail group Honolulu Traffic is very interesting. You can read a summary here: http://hawaiireporter.com/story.aspx... (Hope that link works, if not you can see the report on the Hawaii Reporter site or the HonoluluTraffic.com site.) The assumptions and projections are clearly described. You may agree with them or disagree but the key is that all the assumptions are laid out. This is unlike the City's ongoing hide the salami approach with it's numbers which remain unchanged since 2006. Funny how one group can provide an excel spreadsheet that informs the public of assumptions and projections while Mufster's Minions (even after $100 million contracts to Parsons and its clones) are unable to update costs or publish a draft EIS before the election. Meanwhile, we see articles on the huge sums kicked in by labor unions to pay for pro-rail ads. That explains a lot, no? Oh, for fellow ADD folks who won't read thewhole report, the study I refer to shows Honolulu $6 billion in debt by 2022 due to rail. That's the legacy the Mufster wants to leave when he bails out for higher office.

Don't even bother djs, the slater puppet needs to work OT even on a Sat evening, prime time in Utah, because slater, panos, SRN have failed miserably and the puppet needs to earn the lobbyist paycheck. Not to mention the puppet's lonely as heck in Utah and is acting out spanking fetishes again.
