Obama Announces 'Unprecedented Commitment' to Military Families

I find it unprecedented how Obama's unprecedented decisions become more and more unprecedented as the days go on.

It's just more of his out of control government spending hidden behind the guise of "caring for our military families"

He's on a mission to bankrupt this country.

The community agitator doesn't care about the military, the American people or America.

What about the rest of us? Why do military ppl get special treatment.? They're just torturers and kid-bombers.

President Obama will only send our troops out to fight only when it is necessary and with a well defined mission and objective, with the proper equipment.
And when they come home they will see that their families were well taken care of… the same way that they will be now that President Obama is in the White House.

They do deserve more then most for what they have to go through ! where was obamas moment of silence for the soldiers killed at fort hood?he makes a big deal for those in tucson but to hell with fort hood?all we got from him was his worry of backlash on muslims.the same came from ass kisser general cassey!what happened in tucson was a tragedy but not worse than the one at fort hood.he is the commander of all soldiers and it took the senate to declare a moment for the soldiers and not him!as a vet i think he did an injustice to the troops!

Actually, the military already has a very good pay scale, family benefits and all kinds of additional pay.
To be correct about the military family situation, there should be no more benefits they they already have. The families are not part of the military and should not recieve any compensation or benefits of any type unless paid for or the member with a family is drafted into service.

The job of "soldier" is a lot better than a good portion of private sector jobs.

It's not while they are serving in the military that they should get any more perks......

but, after they have been wounded, injured or placed on disability that they need additional help.
There are thousands upon thousands of veterans already out of the military that need additional assistance.

it's an re-election time.....obama is pandering to the military for votes.....

if he really wanted to help active military he would pull out of Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and several other foregin countries where the military are stationed and reduce the number of people in the military.

He doesn't get it, and neither do you. He knows as much about military strategy as RuPaul knows about duck hunting! Just more empty promises and more taxes.

I'm all for helping military personnel and their families, but Obama's concern for them is as phony as everything else he does. This is just Obama once again using tax dollars to buy votes.

I agree. There is no reason we need to keep our fighting men and women chasing this terrorism ghost around the world. If we spent even a fraction as much money defending ourselves from within as we do in the Middle East we'd be a lot safe in the long run.

That said I have a stepson in the Air Force. He has not seen a lick of combat. He can't even shoot the broad side of a barn. But in 4 years the tax payers have paid for his Lasik eye surgery, his Bachelor's Degree, complete dental overhaul among other things.

I'm happy for him, of course, but I think these perks should be reserved for combat military personnel who actually put their lives on the line. My stepson has had a safe, cushy job for 4 years. Should the taxpayer be required to furnish goodies to people who are simply in support roles and in no way really part of battle?
