What a tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to all touched by the Congresswoman's untimely death. RIP

Would the last sentance "The congresswoman's condition has been stabilized at a hospital in East Cleveland" define "stabilized" as death? The caption tells us that she has died but the last sentance tells us that her condition has been stabilized. Which is it and where are the editors????

Oh, no! This is terrible news. I believe Tubbs Jones was mentioned as a possible cabinet member should Obama be elected as President. I hope my fellow Ohioans and Americans, Republican and Democrat alike, will join me in remembering the late Congresswoman.

A remarkable woman of passion and commitment. Cleveland has lost another pillar of strength and a change-agent with integrity. My prayers go out to her family. May God comfort her family. My heart goes out to them.

A loss for her family and friends; no loss for the country or Ohio.

Obama choose Clinton? That would be Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity's absolute dream ticket! Do you notice how nice the "republican stratigists" are when talking about Clinton? They love her; there's nothing that would make them happier; because that would actually generate a glimmer of "excitement" for the republican base. A Clinton on Obama's ticket will only bring more republicans to the polls! Simply to vote against a Clinton!!!! Nothing fires-up the republican base like the name CLINTON!!

I had the privilege and honor to've known Stephanie Tubbs Jones for 43 years, ever since we attended high school together. Even then, I had an inkling she was destined to greatness, and would make a difference in various levels of public service over time, whether in the realm of forensics or the hallowed halls of Congress. I express my most heartfelt condolences to her family at this time. One can only hope that Ms. Jones' successor can approximate, let alone surpass her accomplishments.

STOP THE ATTACK MAC---- JOHN MCCAIN IS OUT OF TOUCH OUR MIDDLE CLASS AMERICAN MILITARY DIE BECAUSE OF MCCAIN/BUSH IRAQ WAR. "Their is not a speck of evidence that John McCain have won a war: For John McCain, the problem isn't coherence, it's bellicosity. McCain has been the strongest global voice behind Georgia since the shooting began. The problem is, when does the McCain tough rhetoric end and World War III begin? The McCain team will argue that the only way to deter Russia, Iran and other global aggressors from taking actions like this is to stand up to them forcefully, with credibility. The problem is the second half of that equation -- with U.S. troops in Iraq and even Georgia unsure how to get their 2,000 Iraqi troops back home in time to make a difference, how exactly would the U.S. help Georgia in this conflict, short of starting an all-out war with the second biggest nuclear power? At this moment, the U.S. has no credible way to threaten Russia. So unless McCain is willing to get the U.S. in the middle of every armed conflict on earth -- giving new definition to his promise of "more wars" -- a McCain Presidency would mean that we're at least going to enter a new age of foreign policy brinkmanship that will demand a military sufficient to fight these battles. That means either getting out of Iraq or reinstating a draft, because the military today is incapable of matching McCain's rhetoric... By Taegan G STOP THE ATTACKS MAC---- Thou I am not a McBush fan. This is not the appropite place to express your opinon. A very Intelligent and Thoughtful woman has passed away. This is a thread to post your condolances for her family. There are many other threads that you could had put your opinon in. May Prayers and thoughts go out to her Family and the people that she represented.

What the he11? Did she die or is she "stabilized?" This has got to be the lousiest reporting job in recent history. If she didn't die I'd be thinking about a lawsuit against this rag.

Ms Jones has been a courageous and committed public servant for years. Allow some of us to grieve without those who have to post nasty comments and those who feel the need to defend them.

I am very sad to hear of this. I do not know her, but my condolences and prayers do go out to her family and friends. I lost my grandmother to an aneurysm, so I know the horrible feeling of loss that they feel right now. Prayer was the only thing that kept me going, both doing it myself and knowing that there were others praying for me. I am very sorry for your loss and for the loss of all of the people that she served. Someone said earlier that the state and federal government will go on without her, and while this may be true, it will also never be the same. The people who worked with and for her will surely miss her leadership.
