Reagan inherits a 990 billion dollar defecit - baloons it to 2.7 trillion in eight years, triple what he inherited. Dropped tax rate for upper income by 50%, the realized his "Voodoo Economic" approach would not work, raising taxes 11 times before leaving office.
Bush 41 faired less favorably - booted after 1 term, while breaking his promise to not raise taxes.
Eight years of Clinton saw 220 million jobs created, and paying down the national debt for the first time.
Then came Bush 43 - two unfunded wars, two unfunded tax breaks favoring the rich, some to the middle class, ALL UNFUNDED, and to boot, adding an additional 687 million dollars to the defecit pushing Medicare Part D - another unfunded mandate.
I guess you forgot about Cheney's multiple statements, "DEFECITS DON'T MATTER"?
Tried to privatize Social Security - that's all you GOP nuts are about - see how well that went over?
Yeah, you CONservatives have ALL the answers.
NOT!
Yes, a typo; but Still a VERY Imptessive 22 MILLION NET JOBS CREATED during the CLINTON ADMINISTRATION as compared to Obama's less than ZERO in 3 1/2 years. Of course the GOLDEN YEARS happened after Newt arrived on the scene with his "Contracr with America".

I guess the CORPORATE MEDIA made a big mistake undermining the
Hillary campaign to put Obama in Office.

Also, during Reagan Administration there was 18 MILLION NET JOBS with a Democratic Congress and NO Bill Gates.

As for paying down the debt, there are no records at the Treasury to substantiate that claim.

What was funny was watching Chris Mattews ripping Newt Gingrich apart yesterday on "Countdown". Newt was defending Mittens not releasing his tax returns - Mattews retorted "didn't you request that Romney release at least 10 years of his returns during the primaries?"
Newt simply giggled.
Chris said "I guess you want to be on Mitts good side now."
Chris Matthews? You know so little about him, you can't even spell his name right! He's the sorry piece of sh*t who cried like a little girl when Obama got elected. His head is so far up Obama's but that he could give the Prez a free colonoscopy - excpet for the fact that he'd need a light up there too, and no light has shown through Matthews dead, stupid eyes in years. All he does is run the "All Obama, All Day, All the Time Show", the most pitiful piece of sell out, ass-kissing fake journalism since Keith Obamasman got himself fired.

I suppose Racial Maddog runs a close second to Keith or Chris, although her permanent sneer makes her difficult to look at even before she opens her stupid mouth.

22 million jobs had nothing to do with the "Contract with America", which was voted on in 1994 - never have 22 million jobs bee created in 4 years, so that's a bit disingenuous.

Balanced budget from 1998, 1999, and 2000;

"If we maintain our fiscal discipline, using the surplus to pay down the debt and using the savings to strengthen Social Security, America will entirely pay off the national debt by 2015," Clinton told reporters on the White House lawn.
Clinton said the budget surplus for fiscal year 1999 would be a higher-than-expected $99 billion, compared to an earlier projection of $79 billion. For fiscal 2000, which begins Oct. 1, Clinton sees the budget surplus rising to $142.5 billion from an earlier projection of $117.3 billion.
"Improvements in the outlook since February have added $179 billion to the projected budget surplus over five years, half a trillion over 10 years, and a trillion over 15 years," Clinton said.
In February, the White House forecast a five-year surplus of about $700 million, a 10-year surplus of about $2.41 trillion and a 15-year surplus of about $4.47 trillion."

First, a "dead" registered voter is not one that has voted. It is a voter that was properly registered to vote who has passed away.

Who has the responsibility of informing the appropriate Registars office that a voter has passed away?

If a registered voter has died, who shows the ID with picture when they use an absentee ballot? which is the problem I mentioned.

So if they vote by mail why do they need ID? Is the mailman going to check it?

The vote total for the 2008 election was 69,456,897 to 59,934,814.. Even if there were "dozens" of cases of voter fraud, would that have changed the outcome? Almost a 10,000,000 vote difference... Really? It is so stupid... I am surprised that the conservatives out there aren't screaming about the waste of money...

In Ohio, Republican-approved cutbacks in early voting will disproportionately disfranchise African American voters who live in the state's most heavily populated counties!!!

Republicans cut early voting back for the upcoming election from 35 days to 11 days, with the three days right before the election eliminated in ONLY democratic districts!

Republicans in wealthier suburban districts will be able to vote at night, on weekends and other off-hours during those 11 early balloting days. Working-class Ohioans, Democrats or leaning that way, will find that early-voting hours in their counties are more likely to be available when they're on the job and can't get away. Which, of course, goes counter to the purpose of early voting.

Now, in heavily Democratic cities like Cleveland, Columbus, Akron and Toledo, early voting hours will be limited to 8 am until 5 pm on weekdays beginning on October 1, with no voting at night or during the weekend, when itís most convenient for working people to vote.

Republican election commissioners have blocked Democratic efforts to expand early voting hours in these counties, where the board of elections are split equally between Democratic and Republican members. Ohio Republican Secretary of State Jon Husted has broken the tie by intervening on behalf of his fellow Republicans.

ĎI cannot create unequal access from one county board to another, and I must also keep in mind resources available to each county,Ē Husted said in explaining his decision to deny expanded early voting hours in heavily Democratic counties. Yet in solidly Republican counties like Warren and Butler, GOP election commissioners have approved expanded early voting hours on nights and weekends.

Say what? Unequal access for the boards?

ALL TALK! Nothing more.

A BUDGET is nothing more than an ESTIMATE of future costs and revenues. It would be like a family saving for a trip to Disney World, estimating the cost to be, say $5,000. They then accumulate $6,000 for the trip and say look, we have a BUDGET SURPLUS of $1,000 dollars.

Now the time came and went for the trip and the family discovered that it cost more than they had budgeted for, spending $6,500 and ending up with a $500 deficit. The bean counters have the FINAL SAY and deal with REAL NUMBERS.

Budget Numbers are ONLY Supposition. The record at Treasury does not show ANY YEAR where the deficit was lowered.

So what has Romney done?
Blatant lies regarding getting a check from welfare, stating Obama did away with the "Welfare to Work" reforms? That was disseminated by both the right and left within 24 hours.
Romney has not stood on any merits of his own. He never told anyone he was one of a long list of governors who in 2005, requested waivers for his state to exempt MA. from welfare to work TANF requirements, did he?
I may not be thrilled with Obama, but I seriously distrust Romney. that guy has flip flopped on every major issue he's ever addressed - and Obama's going to kick the crap out of him in in the presidential debates. The republicans would have had a better chance if Pawlenty were on the ticket - no one trusts Romney.

No one knows how dumb an idiot is until he speaks (types).

ALL spending by the United States Government is authorized BEFOREHAND by Congress and it is signed by the President. The Pentagon has a budget and it can not go over that budgeted amount because that is all that has been AUTHORIZED. There are no savings to dip into.

Instead of "deficit" which speaks to a specific budget, I am pretty sure you meant "debt" which refers to a negative balance that is the cumulative total of deficits and surpluses.

It appears we won't be able to come to a concencus, which is fine - we all have a right to our opinions, and I respect yours.

The jobs/companies you've mentioned hire all low wages, and as I sometimes use Staples, we can see all the help there is 25 and under. No one could live in the real world on those wages. That's just reality, and I hope you can at the very least agree with that.

The ability to utilize anothers money and invest it does not make a job creator. Did he come up with the concept of Staples, no, it already existed. The same for the other two companies.

The Olympics did two things for Romney - put him back in the spotlight, affording him the opportunity to run as governor after losing in the MA. Senate bid in 1994 to Ted Kennedy - and he didn't do it for free - he was paid $500,000.00 to do this. Not that it was not deserved, but not in the light Romney portrays himself - quitting his position at Bain (also proven to be false) to save the games! He didn't do it for free my friend.
