I am not defending obama by any means. He did not get my vote on 3/4 but I do not think he is a racist. His mother was white & so are his grandparents who he is rather close w/. Is it possible to be a racist of whats partly running through your veins?

I agree and when he said that other priests and pastor spew racial hatred. I am a Catholic and can honestly tell you that no one, especially any priest I have ever had, spews any kind of racial or ethinic hatred in the pulpit. If they did I would not be a member of that church. These jerks don't represent Christianity. I felt Obama's comment was just a non-comment.
Cut it out because it is a known fact that many churches condemn if not outright disciminate against gays and lesbians...especially catholic churches.
The priests speak of it and call it an abomination and this is ok? I don't think so! You guys are being biased and you know it. The minister was wrong but so are many other so called "men of the cloth".

Obama's speech this morning was nothing short of brilliant. I don't think there's anyone today that has their finger on the pulse of the nation as he does. He knows what's going on. Anyone with an open mind can see that he is what is needed. Unfortunately there are millions with closed minds and even more with no minds.

I have a husband that I LOVE who says things that I would be ashamed for ANYONE else to hear. But I'm NOT going to go and divorce him because of it. I SHOULDN'T be held responsible for what my husband says. We are two separate entities and I think for myself as does he. I can't control what comes out of his mouth although sometimes I'd like to punch him in it!
You all know that you have someone in your family who wouldn't be deemed "politically correct" in the eyes of many people if folks knew what they said behind closed doors, but does that mean you love them any less? Would YOU disown them? It's stupid to ask because the answer most likely (if you really love them) would be a RESOUNDING NO!!!
You are all entitled to your opinions and I know what many of you think about black people as a whole. If you were to run for president what skeletons would fall out of your closets? Or have any of you even lived anywhere close to the type of life that Barack Obama has lived? You probably couldn't even make it to a CITY COUNCIL position before someone would find enough dirt on you to call for YOUR resignation...
The fact that Obama goes to this so-called preacher for SPIRITUALITY AND GUIDANCE FOR HIS SOUL is why people have issue with what's coming out of his mouth and are distrusting Obama now. You don't go to your husband for spiritual guidance - you overlook his ignorance because you otherwise love him. I don't think that anyone is saying he's not allowed to associate with this man, but he certainly shouldn't be sitting in his church for 20 years if he disagrees with his fundamentals. It leads me and many others to believe that he AGREES with his fundamentals.

I do not know if you have ever been to a Catholic Church but I have never heard gays and lesbians called an abomination in all my years of attending. What I have heard is "love thy neighbor". You may not agree with their lifestyle but you need to love them.

I believe it is possible. Obama said himself that his white mother would say racist remarks that would make him cringe. It is possible that she turned him against whites herself.

What a load of crap.

It is stunning that people still support this guy.

If I were a candidate from the Right, and I had as my minister as white supremacist, I'd be out of the race immediately.

I have never heard any of my priest condemm in a pulpit gays and lesbians. I also have never heard them say it was an abomination. So wtf are you talking about. The only thing I have heard priests talk about in church, after the Gospel, during the homily are the readings. Nothing else. As for the Church's condemnation of gays and lesbians, I agree with the church. So try again.

I have never heard the same thing either. I also don't agree with their lifestyle, and I would never hurt them. On the contrary, I have heard my priest tell us to love the sinner, not the sin.

I'm sorry... is homosexuality a race or an ethnicity? I didn't think it was either. Homosexuality is outlined as a sin in the Bible... it's explicitly said! "Call it an abomination and this is ok?" The answer is yes you nutjob! At least if you believe the Bible, which is why you would be in church in the first place!

First, what kind of Christian Church preaches hatred????? The Christian religion is about love, not hate. Here it is being skewed just like Islam is skewed by terrorists.
Second, if I listen to Rush Limbaugh for a few hours, I start being influenced by him even though I generally do not agree with him. With that in mind, you are going to have a hard time convincing me that Barak has not been influenced by Wright over these past twenty years.
Barak should do the country a favor and drop out now. Save us a political race war. I'd vote for a black candidate - a Colin Powell or someone of that stature. Barak Obama. No way. Its just trouble from this point on I am very sorry to say.

I especially like his line in the speech that the press was scouring the exit polls for examples of racist voting.

Yeah, 90% of blacks support a half black guy over another democrat... I really had to scour and dig deep for that connection. There's absolutely nothing racial about that!(sarcasm)

"Just Words"

Obama has refered to the inspiration of real leaders as "Just Words" today he proved to all that he is "Just Words" Well selected and delivered words to hide his true agenda. He is an egocentric power monger that will say and do anything to rise to power.
