What President Obama said reminded me of two quotes by two slave abolitionist, Fredrick Douglass and John Brown. Brown once said to a group of enslave (mentally and physically)“Negroes”“You are free; you have to start fending for yourself now”. The other quote by Douglass,(probably talking to a group of scared “Negroes” who is use to “master” taking care of them) said “A man without force is without the essential dignity of humanity. Human nature is so constituted that it cannot honor a helpless man, although it can pity him; and even that it cannot do long, if the signs of power do not arise”

That speech was very condescending, and very white of him in my view, since he would never dare to tell Hispanics to stop complaining about the illegal alien issue. He had to appease white folks by giving a speech like that. He has avoided the CBC until now it is politically expedient.

That house shoe remark was way over the top for me. I made a thread about it too, and included the response by Maxine Waters, who also felt his choice of words were curious at best.

I agree, as a black female I found this speech to be VERY condescending, especially when he said

"Take off your bedroom slippers. Put on your marching shoes."

Last time I checked, I had on high heels OBAMA!!! That remark ticked me off.

I thought Obama was going into the white house with an independent agenda for "CHANGE"... but he is JUST another puppet president.

I feel the American people should not vote for any of the 2012 candidates. Our country has been highjacked and it doesn't matter who we vote for. The elites run this country and every puppet president must follow the elitist agenda towards the new world order.

It appears that Obama has become an equal opportunity racist offender. I was somewhat put out by his reference a few years ago about "their Bibles and their guns", and I am equally offended by his comment about "bedroom slippers", "eat your peas" and other condescending remarks that he has made. His comments indicate a certain arrogance, and that he believes that he is "above" the rest of us.

Our Politicians should NEVER feel that they are above us. They are public servants, and they work for us. Most of them have forgotten their place and don't even listen to us anymore as they feel that they know better what is good for us.

And to answer your question, I knew that I wasn't going to vote for Obama again when he promised to end the war, yet sent thousands of troops into Afghanistan. That was just months into his presidency. He says one thing, yet does another.

I also question the capture of this supposed Bin Laden. In a BBC news report, the residents who lived in close proximity to the supposed "Bin Laden Compound" said it was a case of mistaken identity. http://youtu.be/vYYKaOIh9aw
