Most of you have no business having an opinion on this matter. What the newspapers don't tell you is that it is TOTALLY, 100% LEGAL to NOT mention the informant or the set up in the arrest report. Go read some law books and see for yourself. If something happened here, it had nothing to do with the report. I wish the media would stop writing in a way that misleads ignorant readers such as yourselves.

I had a case, not near as much drugs, that was used for my own personal use. In my case there were a number of factors that were not even close to the truth! They fabricated facts to implicate me, for what reason I'm unsure of! I have been an upstanding citizen in the community for years don't put it past the TPD to stretch and or completely make up facts on any given case! Most of TPD is trusstworthy and honest but some are closer to the not part! They thought I was some big drug dealer but were embarrassed when they could not produce the evidence, that's where the untruths came out ! Open your eyes people, our rights are being violated!

I wonder how you conclude that "TPD is honest" mostly. My experience says otherwise. When TPD uses bias or discrimination instead of probable cause to decide who to stop...they add insult to injury by choosing to make these illegal stops in a violent fashion. This puts them in the position of having just made an illegal stop, where they attacked a lawful citizen, and they have absolutely no reason or excuse for the stop, violence, hostilities etc. It is what they do in conclusion, in my opinion, that really speaks about the character of the individual officers as well as the department as a whole. As I was saying, about their character, and what TPD does, after learning they wrongly stopped and attacked a lawful citizen...
1.seize and destroy evidence
2.refuse to identify themselves, going so far as to claim employment at a neighboring city...
3.try to threaten and coerce victim into agreeing(while secretly recording) with false statements, that would put the blame on their victim, while justifying their violence as self defense...
4.when made aware of criminal actions by police, the department does nothing to prevent future incidents, and supervisors do not return calls or look into allegations after giving their word to do so.
5.similar incidents happen to victim at the hands of other officers in the same department.
6.similar incidents happen to other victims, by different officers, but again with same department
7.(In last incident, officers) fabricated infractions at scene of their crime,(to try to invent a probable cause that did not exist).
8.Once it became clear initial lies told in previous step failed, notice of correction was filled out and mailed, complete with a new set of lies, signed "under penalty of perjury", by a trainee no less.
This really says a lot about integrity, and direction this department is headed in.

It is one thing to know about crimes in department but choosing to ignore them.
To actively train new officers to go out of their way to commit crimes as long as it will cover up other crimes and/or previous mistakes, while creating a burden for the victims of their crimes is so absurd, that only a police department could be so ignorant. Anybody that might think following the law, as well as being polite and respectful to authorities is all it takes to stay out of jail and/or court is on borrowed time. That assumption is incorrect when crossing paths with criminal officers employed in Torrance.
The jokers are just as likely to make false arrests w/bogus evidence when arresting an alledged suspect, as they are when arresting a known innocent victim of their own mistakes. I hope nobody else has to learn this the way I and others have, but TPD is training to insure it does happen, and often.
With that in mind, there is no way for a juror to know the difference between a defendant arrested because of guilt, and a defendant arrested to hide ignorance on the part of an arresting officer.
I suppose that is how they want it to be, knowing we as jurors can be counted on to trust their word in court. In the future, I will have to consider the chance an officer is being honest, only after ruling out any other scenario. Thanks TPD for educating me, I will pass it along as often as I can. I would have rather the department properly educated its people, but it seems we are in disagreement as to what that means.

I had the oppurtunity to meet Officer Nazir at my place of employment.I started off being polite and then was fed up with his rudeness and returned it.This caused him to harass me for a few months.Anytime he saw me in a car(at least 5 times)even as a passenger I'd get pulled over and sat on a curb while the car was searched NEVER a ticket and never anything illegal in the cars.Once he even said"your passenger just told me you guys have dope in the car where is it"I laughed at him.I am not nor do I look like a drug addict. But this article scared me to death thank God there was never anything placed in my car by him his record at other depts had me wondering how he got hired at TPD

The LA Times story has more depth - the TPD actually fucked a case that the Feds were persuing against the Grape St. Crips and it was so easy to beat the case that an asst public defender won it. So Baker won the case using taxpayer $$.
BTW Kore Vet, the arresting TPD officer was Rehan Nazir. Have any racist remarks about him?
FK him too ...

what is the deal with Torrance Police? It is bad enough they dont care about the constitution, but when they are wrong, and waste everybodys time doing an illegal search, why then do they make up a ticket and lie causing you to have to go to court? Can anyone answer this question please. There is nothing worse then having to take a day off work to go to court, but to fight it it takes more then one trip, posting bail, and then the possibility of losing anyways. Why do they do this to innocent people? If they want to write a ticket, then instead of searching people who did nothing, wait until somebody runs a light, then you can do both without causing the wrong person to go to court.
TPD, please tell me here for everyone to see, why do you guys do this? Do you understand the hardship it causes? The rest of us dont get paid no matter what we do or dont do. You certainly wouldnt like for a citizen to cause you to lose several days pay etc...
Why?
