Sounds like a good man who lived a life to be proud of. My heart goes out to his Wife & Parents. It's tragic that he will never hold his baby.

He was risking his life over there to assure that we led a more secure life over here. He gets a by-line while some HSU professor gets a headline to go to American Samoa.

Great priorities Times Standard. Maybe you ought to hire a vet as your editor.

My condolences to his family. His sacrafice does not go unnoticed.

Umm, it's rather pathetic that you would prostitute the loss by his family for partisan political purposes.

It was once stated while Americans were in harm's way that politics stopped at the water's edge.

You are obviously unclear on such a concept.

Sincere condolences to the family. Sounds like a great guy who was trying to make the world a better place.

And please when trolls post to this thread report it, but do not reply, and especially don't reply with a copy of the original post, this just encourages the thread to gravitate to name calling and grand standing.

God give you peace and strength to carry your family through this hard time. I am greatful to your son for his service.
Believe me, people care about you and so don't read or listen to the monsters who use this forum for their politics. Wrong place.

I have the utmost sympathy for the family and loved ones of this man who was doing his best to serve his country. That being said, our DEA should never be sent to police other country's drug problems. It is a waste of money and worse, a loss of precious life for something that can never be "won". Get us out of Afghanistan NOW (and I'm a Republican!) and stop the needless death!

As a Mom of a US Soldier that has been oversea's to fight. I wanted to say that I am very sorry for your loss. But your son died doing something he believed in and for his service I am very proud of him and have alot of respect for his family. I know that it is not easy having a loved one in the war zone no matter what they are doing. Alot of people on here write hateful stuff. But until you have been in our shoes you will never know the worrying that we do. You can sit behind your computer and say what you want, but no matter what the the cause is. It is a tragic loss to a family that cared for thier son. We don't know the facts and how much of that drug makes it into the United States so I am proud of him for fighting the war on drugs.

Well if the rest of the Republicans heard you talking like that they'd want to crucify you.

In the past there was a few poppies growing here and there because it was completely and utterly against their religion. It was kept in check and very unpopular to do so but since we got into that country it's wall to wall opium. In places it's growing absolutely has far as the eye can see.

So sorry this man had to died but I like others don't understand why.
Is it becasue when it's turns into heroin that's when they must keep tabs on it ?
