In reality, fluoridation actually cuts into their income from treating patients who otherwise would have poor dental health and increased tooth decay problems! Fluoridation at about 1 ppm is safe and beneficial as demonstrated in numerous peer reviewed scientific studies the past three generations! What delsional blather. There are many studies showing no difference between fluoridated and non-fluoridated communities regard dental caries, and many more showing increased increases in dental fluorisis in the fluoridated communities - and there's money for desntists in treating that. But the biggest cost factor explaining the continued pro-fluoride stand of the ADA is the threat of huge class action lawsuits if thet're ever proven to have advocated for a harmful substance for the past 50 years. Another message to you from the real world: Watsonvilles oldent employer Martinellis has already expressed the necessity of relocating its operations and hundreds of jobs if Watsonville fluoridates. The reason? Much of Martinellis business consists in exported drink products to Europe, and Europe has banned the import of food and drink products exposed to fluoride. I suppose you would assume the entire continent of Europe is on a diet of kool aid and pot because it disagrees with you. No, I think it's you that's been drinking the fluoridated kool aid.

Reader remarks wrote: Marilyn, thank you for the information about non-complying access issues at the stroke center. Able bodied people parking in handicapped spaces deserve a huge penalty. Get the license number, time and date and call the police. Is there not a private security guard on that site empowered to ticket cars not displaying a handicapped card or license plate? Ask at the stroke center..report it to someone who will correct each issue. Regarding the Stroke Center at Cabrillo, with regards to parking, almost all of the clients are usually bused or transported by family member and dropped off, so not much parking is needed. There is a nice u-shaped driveway in front of the new center. Regarding the use of a handicapped spot by a person who can walk; please don't make judgments just because someone appears able bodied.Of course if there is not placard call the Sheriff on campus. My sister has severe rheumatoid arthritis. She had is since she was 23. She is lovely and looks normal, but on bad days when she gets flare ups she can barely move, on good days when she can walk normal, it is still good to use a handicapped spot to keep her walking to a minimum to avoid aggravating her joints. My daughter has CP, and could not walk until she was 6 years old, then went through many surgeries to help her walk. She also looks normal. I used to hold her hand for balance to walk rather than use an orthopedic device. Because she is young many people have yelled at us assuming that only people in wheelchairs or elderly or obese should have placards. Because of this my daughter asked me to never use the handicapped placard again and is very sensitive about her disability.

Fiorina has no real plan for moving state forward And Boxer does??? Hah... that's the joke of the decade. How long has Boxer been in office and what exactly has her plan been? Answers: far too long and take CA into the dumper. She's been successful at both. Vote Boxer out! Fiorina gets my vote. Anyone but Boxer. She's had her time. She's done. Fiorina will eke out a win in November.

In Wednesday's Boxer vs. Fiorina Senate debate, it was strange to see how Fiorina repeatedly refused to answer a direct question with a yes or no about Proposition 23, which would repeal the California Clean Energy Act... James Green, Salinas Striving for inaccuracy, little Jimmy Greenie uses the word repeal in reference to Prop 23. We wish it would repeal our Carbon Reduction Law...it is killing California's economy. The correct word is SUSPEND...Prop 23 does NOT repeal anything!!! Truly amazing is to see in print common sense from a CARB Bureaucrat! “No Solitary suicide pact”– Orange County Register Editorial August 12, 2010 ARB chief says state won’t impose cap-and-trade scheme without other Western states. http://www.yeson23.com/no-solitary-suicide-pa... Get the facts straight, Little Jimmie Greenie, or did R.Lowe write this TOTAL mis-characterization for U? YesOn23.org

You mean Carly "I own 2 yachts" Fiorina, who has accomplished nothing in her career except almost ruining HP (and off-shoring 30,000+ jobs in the process), has no clue on the major issues affecting ordinary Californians? How surprising?

The voters of the "Great State of California" need to wipe the slate clean...if they don't it will be the equivalent of insanity...doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome. Boxer has outlived her welcome and has done nothing short of adding to the destruction of a wonderful state that "was" looked up to throughout the civilized world.

Your whole paragraph is liberal spew. Why doesn't Soquel Creek or City of Santa Cruz force fluoride onto the population? Both have over 10,000. With that much money why not a couple of bill boards showing how to brush your teeth in spanish in Watsonville? Why not just pass out tooth brushes and tooth paste in watsonville? Why not arrest the illegal criminals (men women and children) from mexico, deport them and have them drink their own water back in mexico? I am sure the dentist in mexico could use new customers. There has to be something better we can do with that money than poisoning the citizens of Santa Cruz CO. HM

My biggest problem with it is that it is FORCED medication rather than a personal choice. I understand that there are those that cannot afford fluoridation treatments, but I am sure those people brush their teeth. Toothpaste with fluoride is available at the dollar store. Let those who want it get it, but I don't think it, or any medication, should be forced on anyone who does not want it.

James Bond wrote: James Green, so apparently you think Barbara (don't call me ma'am) Boxer is still the answer? How many times do you have to be insulted before you realize that you've been taken to the cleaners? Boxer has been in office for 28 years and what has she done? You can't just pick one or two things and call that an accomplishment. Its also a fact that she continues to vote for big spending and taxes. Take a look around at the economy James, a good look around and for once stop the blame game and you'll see the fruits of Boxer's labor. Don't you ever ask yourself why these Democrates vote as a block? Doesn't one of them have a different opinion? It is painfully clear that the majority party doesn't know what they are doing and they don't know how to get us to a recovery path. Actually I think the Democrates do know what it'll take to get us to a recovery path but since it's a Republican idea they just won't agree. It's a crisis they don't want to waste and they are going to keep spreading the wealth and pain until they are stopped which I think will start in November. Well said. Fiorina DOES have a plan to move California forward: It's her plan to beat Boxer. Boxer doesn't care that her policies have taxed us into oblivion. Lifting the tax burden will increase revenue because more people will be earning wages and paying taxes. It's the simplest of economic principles but liberals cannot get it. They just can't. Fiorina gets it. Vote Carly in November.

I can see a line of solar panels in the interstate five median from Bakersfield to Sacramento. It would probably take a lot more solar panels to do much good for whichever community gets the lion's share of the energy output. Fresno seems a good choice. Fiorina might be the first candidate to address the economic condition of Fresno during a recession. It seems that Fresno and neighboring communities get traditionally short strawed. This area has the highest unemployment rate and the highest agricultural yield. The latter does California good. The state has turned off the water for parts of Fresno County in the past. She is prolife and supports unemployed Californians.

Thats the problem with people today, they don't think out of the box. Medicating the masses is morally wrong no matter what jurisdiction you live in. Also, people who will get sick will run to the county and state to pay for their services, unless watsonville has their own private health insurance which they do not.
