Hi Steve,

I want to thank you for posting the organization's website address. I just went there I am touched that there is an organization that is committed to helping people who have gone to prison stay honest and not become repeat offenders.

I thank you and anyone that works with the organiazation.

You need to double layer your tin foil hat. Reynolds wrap has decreased the thickness of tin foil to save the planet.

And possibly put some out riggers (antenna's) that extend far into the atmosphere for the best reception and those high quality lightning strikes!

Inmates in other states have access to cell phones and can buy prepaid phone cards to add money to their phones and that is what SCDC should do too. If it didn't cost so much for the inmates families for them to call home maybe the inmates wouldn't need to get access to cell phones.

"OK, this is easy! You catch an inmate with a cell phone - you bring him out to the yard and break his wrists right there in front of God and everybody! That would send out a message. No rights, no privelages! You are an inmate... you are property of the SC jail system. Show them who is boss! "

You obviously don't know or love anyone on the "inside". Everyone makes mistakes and deserves a second chance. The inmates that are doing this should be punished, but no all inmates go to prison and continue to do the wrong thing. Some of them try to rehabilitate themselves because SCDC sure doesn't help! They still don't have a right to "break their wrists"....Come on then they would be breaking the law and that would be inhumane. Also, these guys aren't the property of the SC jail...they are not property of anyone....these people have families and are someones son, daughter, husband, wife, mother, father, or friend. You need to remember how many people are in prison and then how many of those people have families and think about what you say before you say it. Don't ever comment on something you know NOTHING about.

Just put the prison inside of a wal-mart. Cell phones never work in there.

Let us take the "maybe" one step further.

Maybe if the criminals did not commit a crime maybe they would not be in prison. Than maybe their family would not accept high price phone calls from prisoners because they would not be in jail.

Maybe the families do not have to accept the charges from their inmate family member everytime they called.

Do you accept the charges? No, he/she has called already one time this month.

what an idiotic soapbox to climb onto, WLTX. say you get your way, and no cell phones work inside the prison. it wouldn't be hard to cut the phone line, and then the entire prison would be cut off from the outside -- guards included. that doesn't sound too safe now, does it? sweeps sure brings out the dumbest stories.
No but there is a system that we used in Iraq that scambles cell phone signals that prison officals can have access to in case there is a riot and phone line are cut!

I'm sorry your boyfriend got locked up, but he IS in fact someone else's property now! Hate to break the news to you, but I have friends who work in the system, and he does belong to them now. Good luck with sharing that love!

Riggers are not for the novice tin foil hat wearing moonbat. They need permission from code pink, al, jesse, babs, and the baldwin brothers.

I thought they had metal detectors at all the prison`s that would stop all the vistors and employees from bringing in cell phones and or parts of a cell phone, etc.? My God they could post just one officer to watch out for someone throwing contraband over any fence ? They also need to shut down the office of Inspector General and save over $300.000.00 a year and use the money to hire more officers. This office is nothing but a "goog ole boy" position anyway.

First I would like to thank the people who responded in a positive manner to the person who wants help after being in trouble with the law. We need more people like you all. Everybody deserves a second chance. Those of you who have negative things to say are probably the ones who run the church doors down. We all have done something in our lives that could have put us in the same situation. We always talk down about people who are locked up, but the minute one of our family members get into trouble what can we say. The majority of the officers are doing wrong, why because they can make more money hustling these inmates than what the state pays them. How can a visitor bring a cell phone when you go through a metal detector?? SCDC worrying about cell phones what about the other issues that are more severe. Something needs to be done with SCDC period!!!

I would speculate that you are precisely exact! But, in this case, it is important that we give this the Ozzie Osborne U812 treatment by letting this woman (I guess) know what all of her options are (including that mighty bolt of Lightning) that may just thrust her onto that Raging comet in the sky where she can catch up with those other cyanide taking, comet chasing nuts!

You are exactly right! The current Inspector General has no more morals, ethics and character than Ozmint does--which is none! Both of them together couldn't fill up a thimble full of credibility!

She would have to first go to Height Ashbury in SF to attend the intense two week training course for moonbat interplanetary travel.

Why can't the prison monitor the signals emitted by cell phones within the range of the facility boundaries. An alarm could be sounded or a red light turned on in the area where the signal is picked up. It wouldn't be fool-proof but it would certainly discourage the use of cell phones by inmates. If inmates are using the phones when they are in the "yard", that should be obvious to guards who are observing then. This should not infringe on the rights of those who live close to the facility.
This is a great idea!!! And I wonder if they could trace the calls and get those people too. It seems like a simple solution to fix. I thought they lost all their rights when they got caught and put in jail. They already get 3 free meals and a roof over their heads! Some can even get a free education.

I read all the comments about the prison system, one main solution is screening the applicants when hiring than just looking to fill a position with a body.Another is the peope who the put in position of capt.,lt.,and sgts.who have no clue on how to run a prison yard full of criminals, especially when they are clueless them self. and for jon ozmint,if he would listen to some of co's who actually go to work to work and not just get a paycheck,he would have a better run prison system than he do now and instead of listening to inmates because some governor wants to be re-elected they would'nt have these problems. One last thing ,you can't run a prison with clueless people who are there because they have on a certain shirt or sit behind a desk and never go onto yard to see how the staff is doing their jobs.
