To play devils advocate for a minute-

It's about time they say something in the way of voting for McCain, they have been pushing for Obama so much and so often, I almost forgot that there are two candidates,

I worked at WalMart in the evenings and weekends for about 6 months as a second job in order to pay down some bills from the birth of my third child, and I hear these stories about Walmart and shake my head.

This is another story that just makes me wonder.

How do these employees, who felt "pressure" to vote Republican, think their employers (WalMart) would know who they voted for in November?

A company is allowed to have a position on candidates, especially when one is proposing something that they see could affect their business model.

These meetings that they held with employees sounded like education sessions, to let employees know where the company stands on the candidates and their proposed agendas.

Maybe I'm wrong, and people could probably change my mind on this if I learned more, but I don't see how a sensible person could feel threatened by this.

I doubt the voracity ... but if it is true ... who can blame them? The democrats are constantly attacking Wal-mart ... and all american big business. The democrat leadership have become socialists, and increasingly anti-american.

I'm sure Wal-Mart's did not become Wal-Marts with just non-union people shopping there. Now let's see what happens to their sales if all unions call for a boycott of union people shopping there. Wal-Marts' is so idiotic. If Wal-Marts' doesn't like union people, HEY UNION PEOPLE, BOYCOTT WAL-MARTS!

And they're going to pass those costs on to the consumer via Price Increases.

What would be considered a decent wage? When I worked there part-time to pay off some medical bills, I made $7.50 an hour.

And you know what? I was fine with that. Why? Because I knew that the job that I was doing could be done by a child. Straightening up isles, stocking shelves, taking inventory. Doesn't take a brain surgeon to do this, and therefore they don't have to pay high wages.

I don't understand people who say that WalMart should pay their employees more. Maybe WalMart employees should learn more skills so that they could get a better job than what WalMart hires people to do.

I feel sorry for those people who have to try to support a family on WalMart or retail wages, but such jobs and their wages were not intended to provide for a person to support a family on.

Same thing applies for health insurance. If a person needs better health insurance, then they should obtain skills that will allow them to get a job with better benefits.

Let me tell you people, you have NO idea the depths to which some people in corporate America will sink, to rid themselves of burdening, so-called "overpaid" employees. Even if they busted every union in this country, that would NEVER be enough for these people. They are greedy. They eat, sleep, and activate themselves in the greed mode. If all the shops became non-union, they'd start busting those too! If a non-union worker gets paid $10.99 an hour, they'd bring somebody in that will work for $7.99 an hour. Is this country braindead? There is no end to the ways and means these corporate goons try to manifest profits. Some people need to get real. They'll ship in Chinese if they have to! Don't think it won't happen either! Profits, that's the name of the game-----profits for the CEO's!

What an idiot idea. No employer is going to "pressure" employees in such a manner. Perhaps you are unaware but one votes in private. To hassle people is obviously counter-productive.

You are correct sensible person would not feel threatened by this but those who are less educated will cave in to the suggestion which is against their best interest.

That's why the Dems are so eager to amnesty illegal aliens and create massive guest-worker programs, isn't it? Oh wait! Your rant was probably supposed to be anti-GOP. My bad....

If you don't like the pay/benefits there, go to school, get some skills, and get a better job. Jeesh! Maybe don't squirt out kids when you're 16; that might help too....
