I think that shows just how much he is a manipulative politician. He agrees and stands firm on not coming to Michigan to rally. Then he acts like Hillary is wrong and pointing fingers. He says he stands Firm on not coming to Michigan to rally. Then the moment he sees opportunity to be manipulative and go against what he beliefs in to gain political advantage, he changes his views with no explanation or annoucment. Is the kind of President you want??? Not me.This guy is bad, very bad for Michigan and the country. He could not have made this any more clear.
Again its the Democratic heads of Michigan and Florida that this anger or frustration should be towards, not Obama! Hillary wasn't suppose to have her name on the ballot but chose to keep it there. She didnt campaign in Michigan. I agree with the person that posted about him coming to ease the tension that is so obvious ie. your concern.

The press makes his coming look like something really great is happening. Who really cares? Obama is a liberal so the press will play his visit up big time. Why doesn't someone in the press ask him some real tough questions -- like his ties to terrorists, his America-hating preacher, etc?

Exactly! I like Bob Barr though.
Works for me. Ironic how the Libertarians supposedly sunk his last election and now he is possibly running for Pres as their candidate.

TD, absolutely. There is absolutely no leadership being shown by state politicians to fix the problems here and none by at the federal level to solve any of those problems. I'm not that old, but the last time there was such a void of leadership was the late 70's with the peanut guy. That I can recall.

I don't understand the attraction (short of the physical attraction)this guy has to voters. It surely isn't due to his past experience and resume. He hasn't done anything, including a full term as a Senator. Four years ago he was just a guy... and now he wants to be President? You can believe it or not but 'just a guy' can't walk into the office and do well. I've got better qualifications than this guy.

I don't see a single decent candidate in any of the candidates declared and the wannabe's. Sad.

Why all the hate?

Don't hate...EDUCATE

Read his book "The Audacity of Hope" and read his "Blueprint for Change". I stand behind him 100%. He is the candidate to clean up the mess that is Washington. I agree with him on every issue and truly believe in him.

Can't wait to meet all you fellow Obama supporters at Van Andel!:)

So if you are so much better what office did you hold and for how long? Why are you not on a ballot? I disagree and think that someone normal can walk in and do a great job.

Wrong sister! He can out spend McCain and Clinton and still have plenty left. Why would he need our money? Votes, yes of course but so does Mc Cain and Clinton (if she somehow gets the nomination). Where is your validity of this? If you support another candidate then its ok to be upset. Be upset....He's coming so get over it! Have a blessed day!
If for one minute you don't think it's going to cost for him to come here-you better think again. This whole presidential race is a joke. I don't need to get "over " anything. I simply don't understand why he is truly coming here. Think about it.

I LOVE to read the split between Clinton and Obama supporters. Keep it up Dems!! While you are fighting with each other over who is the best DEM candidate, John McCain is already out there rallying his Republican supporters and running the general election.

If your candidate has to wait until the convention to be nominated, he/she still has to rally the support of the other candidate's followers, and begin to campaign in the general election.

This has been an exciting election year. It is showing our electoral process really at work.

Odd he would even come here. Michigan is a slam dunk for him especially with all the greats here to push him along, Granholm, Levin, Stabenow, Dillon, Mayor K Kilpatrick, Mayor Greenie Hartwell of GR, the list is endless with Democratic luminaries. A regular star studded field. I wonder which will be selected to introduce him if he even shows up, and I wouldn't count on him actually being here by the way.

Personally, I've begun to agree with a point Batch has brought up many, many times in these forums: We need a third party with true conservative values, that can rally the conservative faithful to the colors instead of pandering to the lowest common denominator like the GOP has done, and that will take a common-sense approach to repairing the damage done to this country by years of liberalism growing unchecked and out of control.

Granted, we've had so-called "independents" run; but an independent candidate is at the mercy of the entrenched political machinery of both Democrats AND GOP--not to mention the conservative-hating far-left media manchine. Can't raise enough money to even begin to run a viable candidate (an independent candidate would be seen as a fringe candidate, anyway). And let''s be honest about something, while we're at it. It's not about running because you have a vision and a belief that you can make a difference; it's about lusting after power and priviledge, and attaining them both no matter the cost, no matter who you trample on in the attainment. No, a third party that can rally the conservative faithful and that can garner the resources to literally go toe-to-toe with Democrats and Repulicans has to come out of this fiasco, this three-ring circus, this soap opera called "As The Worm Turns", posing as a Presidential Election. Our continued existance as a democracy--even as a nation, depends on it. And make no mistake, that third party has to have the perseverence and wherewithal to whether one knock-down,drag-out, down-n-dirty gutter fight, because there's no frakkin' way in h*e*l*l that the Dems or the GOP will suffer the existance of what they view as an interloper or an annoyance at best, or a downright threat to their power, prestige, and pride of place at worst.

I'll vote for McCain at this point because I see him as a stop-gap measure at this point (hard for me to admit to, but there it is), and as less of a threat to this nation than Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. Hillary has too much baggage (Bill), and Obama is a blank slate that only has a silver tongue with a good line of bs, but no substance. When one takes everything into account regarding Obama, the only conclusion one can come to is that he has no business being elected President.

To the true conservatives out there, the time to prepare for the next round is NOW! Start networking ... Do whatever it takes within the law to advance the process of taking our nation back from those who are bent on it's demise.

Don't let the United States of America become The Nation That Was--only to be replaced by the Democratic Peoples Republic of North America. Rally to the colors while there's still time!
