That's right....AFTER Clinton allowed the whole process to be set up by intentionally (for years) allowing lax SEC regulations, etc. etc. etc. For him, it was all about the "legacy" and the heck with the good of the country.[For proof of this, simply observe his current behavior.] By the way, you should really consider expanding your vocabulary beyond the word "stupid." You're making yourself look like a doltish Democrat---and we have enough of those already in CT.
Well lets see, did Clinton leave the country in better condition than when he took office?- YES. Did W leave the country (if only literally) in better condition than when he took office - NO. From your perspective you must have a bee-line view of your transverse colon! How fun for you!

Don't hate the man, Mona. He just proved to many that might have voted for him that he is no better than any other politician. He lied about ever knowing about Wright's sermons. Then, in his wonderous speech, he admitted that he WAS aware. New slant today, "if the rev. hadn't retired, I would be uncomfortable about going to that church." DON'T BE DUPED !!!
Large numbers of Republicans have been voting for Barack Obama in the DEMOCRATIC primaries, and caucuses from early on. Because they feel he would be a weaker opponent against John McCain. And because they feel that a Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama ticket would be unbeatable. And also because with a Clinton and Obama ticket you are almost 100% certain to get quality, affordable universal health care very soon.
But first, all of you have to make certain that Hillary Clinton takes the democratic nomination and then the Whitehouse. NOW! is the time. THIS! is the moment you have all been working, and waiting for. You can do this America.“Carpe diem”(harvest the day).
I think Hillary Clinton see’s a beautiful world of plenty for all. She is a woman, and a mother. And it’s time America. Do this for your-self, and your children’s future. You will have to work together on this and be aggressive, relentless, and creative. Americans face an even worse catastrophe ahead than the one you are living through now.
Hillary Clinton has actually won by much larger margins than the vote totals showed. And lost by much smaller vote margins than the vote totals showed. Her delegate count is actually much higher than it shows. And higher than Obama’s. She also leads in the electoral college numbers that you must win to become President in the November national election. HILLARY CLINTON IS ALREADY THE TRUE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE!
As much as 30% of Obama's primary, and caucus votes are Republicans trying to choose the weakest democratic candidate for McCain to run against. These Republicans have been gaming the caucuses where it is easier to vote cheat. This is why Obama has not been able to win the BIG! states primaries. Even with Republican vote cheating help.
Hillary Clinton has been out manned, out gunned, and out spent 2 and 3 to 1. Yet Obama has only been able to manage a very tenuous, and questionable tie with Hillary Clinton.
If Obama is the democratic nominee for the national election in November he will be slaughtered. Because the Republican vote cheating help will suddenly evaporate. All of this vote fraud and republican manipulation has made Obama falsely look like a much stronger candidate than he really is. YOUNG PEOPLE. DON’T BE DUPED! Think about it. You have the most to lose.
The democratic party needs to fix this outrage. I suggest a Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama ticket. Everyone needs to throw all your support to Hillary Clinton NOW! So you can end this outrage against YOU the voter, and against democracy.
I think Barack Obama has a once in a life time chance to make the ultimate historic gesture for unity, and change in America by accepting Hillary Clinton’s offer as running mate. Such an act now would for ever seal Barack Obama’s place at the top of the list of Americas all time great leaders, and unifiers for all of history.
The democratic party, and the super-delegates have a decision to make. Are the democrats, and the democratic party going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee to fight for the American people. Or are the republicans going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee through vote fraud, and gaming the DEMOCRATIC party primaries, and caucuses.
Fortunately the Clinton’s have been able to hold on against this fraudulent outrage with those repeated dramatic comebacks of Hillary Clinton’s. Only the Clinton’s are that resourceful, and strong. Hillary Clinton is your NOMINEE. They are the best I have ever seen.
Sincerely
jacksmith...

I vividly remember watching the USS Cole memorial service on TV and watching Hillary Clinton cry. Was she crying for the loss of life or because her husband failed to respond to that loss, which made a tragedy even worse. Clinton (Bill) sure saved a lot of defense money by ignoring embassy bombings, the Cole, etc. etc..... but we all paid in the long run. Penny-wise, pound foolish, as we say. But people like you can still sit around tsk-tsking about budget figures while the REAL men are overseas taking care of business. Good points.

Let me add a few others.

BHO has proposed $1.4 trillion in new government programs during the campaign. How do you think he will be able to pay for them? He wants to raise taxes for all taxpayers earning $50k/year and up. This sounds like an increase for lower middle-income earners.

What is not being reported about BHO's church is one of its chief tenets is pacifism. This may explain why BHO is willing to negotiate with all dictators who are enemies of the U.S. if he is elected. If nothing else, since he is a pacifist, our national security can not be assure, particularly since he wants to open up the border with Mexico even more.

The Clinton budget surplus was also as a result of the 'Peace Dividend' and the subsequent underspending for the military.

As a result, we were left unprepared for 911 as the FBI and CIA were allowed to become dysfunctional during the Clinton years.

Add to this the unheard-of raise in salary of Michelle Obama from $121,910 to $316,962. Wonder of wonders, the raise came just AFTER Obama was elected to the U.S.Senate.
Now was that timing just an extraordinary coincidence, or did her employer expect a quid pro quo?
His earmarks also included a 1 million dollar request for the hospital she works for, compliments of the US taxpayers.

Fortunately, for McCain earmark requests won't be an issue: He didn't ask for any.

Some of us will not support him because of his politics (higher taxes, bigger government, more regulation over people's lives...He has to pay for his programs somehow and the money for government programs comes from tax revenue)

Is that now not a legitimate reason not to support a candidate? Or are you of the opinion that people just use the "politics" argument to convince themselves they are not "racists" or "bigots" or the like?

If you want to get down to "race" I have found many people who would wholeheartedly support Condoleezza Rice or Colin Powell if one of them ran.

You speak the words of most Americans now.
There is a weakness in the claim that Obama is a uniter:

He has not even united his own political party (Of course, it's all THAT woman's fault, right?)

The US is not made up of Democrats. We have Republicans, Libertarians, Socialists, independents who often share different ideologies than those espoused by the Democratic party.

I realize that he has brought many to "his side" but that is not the same as "uniting" different ideologies. It is simply convincing them of the "correctness" of his own position (one that many, myself include, do not share)

"Never would I expect to see in my lifetime a man of such evil taking the pulpit on National Television and professing extreme hate and implied violence that has direct implications for almost every white, Jew, non-Christian, Christians of other faiths, government officials, peoples from other countries and so on. Didnt Hitler do this too?"
Even more remarkable to me is that Rev. Wright has a following of 8500+ parishioners. I can understand an aberration of one racist minister spewing his racist venom, but to have so many people cheering, pumping their fists in encouragement; even leaving their seats to pat him on the back is incredulous. This church has set race relations back a generation in Chicago.
Obama is campaigning on a platform that is centered on the premise that he can 'bring us together.' This man sat through 20 years of listening to the hateful speech and did not speak out against it until it became a political crisis for him.
Now he says it is time to talk about race. Why not last year, the year before? Why not 1995? By his failure he has allowed Wright to poison an entire generation of black children in his parish against white people. While others are working to achieve racial harmony, Wright is continuing to spew his hateful racial venom.
The tapes exemplify why we can't overcome the racial divide in this country; because Jeremiah Wright and his ilk don't WANT the racial issues to go away. Is it, perhaps, because he, along with his brethren Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, would see his stock go down? If we achieved racial harmony what role would they play? They have nothing to offer beyond their pseudo protector of black rights.
Obama had a great opportunity to exhibit his leadership skills by speaking out against the hateful speech. He blew it.
He did speak out. That was his speech he gave last week. However, the purpose for it was not to bridge the racial divide. It was damage control. If Obama gave one hoot about racial divisions (that are VERY real) in this country, he would have addressed it from the very beginning.

Further, the speech gave no roadmap of how to overcome racial divisions. It merely pointed out the obvious: They exist. We needed a speech to know that?

And honestly, I think the consequences of the speech are negative. Many (on all sides) have simply hardened their positions rather than trying to listen and break through to other sides.

All this has done has opened a Pandora's box. I wish the same would happen with Mr. Obama's politics and proposed ideas: They both need to be examined.
