You asked "Where's the outrage" as if you were insinuating there wasn't any at all. I was pointing out to you that your ASSumption was in error and there is overt outrage. Maybe you're too dense to understand. Too bad.
You are in over your head. I guess the take away from this is that the people on this board are not really concerned about tax credits at all. It is just another excuse to complain about those brown people. Say no more.

Sorry, maybe i thought you were retired, since you are here 24/7. I AM self employed too, and i can't be here full time like you.

This is penny ante stuff. Compared to the corporate tax evaders it is not even worth mentioning.
The article mentioned that $1B per year is given in tax credits to taxpayers who happen to be undocumented.
Meanwhile, last year GE made $14.2B profit and paid nothing in taxes. They even received $3.2B in tax credits.
So here you have one company that received more than three times the amount of tax credits then the article alleges the combined 11M undocumented received. At least the undocumented paid taxes.
Where is the outrage?
I suspect many of the people ranting about this are also in favor of more tax breaks for companies like GE.

I'am talking about 4.2 billion over whatever a American company does. So you think a company does something it ok for illegal aliens to steal from us?

Illegal Aliens Got $4.2 Billion in Refundable Tax Credits Last Year

"The Internal Revenue Service allowed undocumented workers to collect $4.2 billion in refundable tax credits last year, a new audit says, almost quadruple the sum five years ago.

Although undocumented workers are not eligible for federal benefits, the report released Thursday by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration concludes that federal law is ambiguous on whether these workers qualify for a tax break based on earned income called the additional child tax credit.

Taxpayers can claim this credit to reduce what they owe in taxes, often getting refunds from the government. The vagueness of federal law may have contributed to the $4.2 billion in credits, the report said.

The IRS said it lacks the authority to disallow the claims.

Wage earners who do not have Social Security numbers and are not authorized to work in the United States can use what the IRS calls individual taxpayer identification numbers. Often these result in fraudulent claims on tax returns, auditors found."

Not so penny ante anymore and this was a few years ago so the cost maybe up 100 billion.

"Illegal alien migration into the United States costs American taxpayers $346 billion annually reported by the National Research Council. While employers of illegal aliens rake-in billions of dollars, the US citizens subsidize what may be called organized "Slavery in 21st Century America."

Your the one who said the entire issue was a racist one against "brown people". If that's not throwing the "race card" I don't know what is. Certainly, with a small percentage of the population, there is a prejudice against Latinos but the real issue here is people who are coming here in violation of our immigration laws and the government and companies who are encouraging it. The vast majority of us want our immigration laws enforced and those who are here illegally to leave. It wouldn't be that difficult to achieve that if the government had the will to do it. Obviously, the Obumble administration doesn't have that will.

So it had nothing to do with tax credits? Thanks for acknowledging that. That is more than most people will do.

You are beyond dense. Of course it's about tax credits -- to illegal aliens...to people who should not be here to get a tax credit or any other type of credit.

Saying an American company does "x" does not then mean we must allow law breakers to do something. You're comparing apples and oranges. The American companies belong here and what they get, they get. We can try to change the rules for them if it's affecting us. However, we already have laws that say illegal aliens do not belong here, cannot work here, and so on. Thus, they should not be getting any sort of tax credits.

The only "degree" you might have is one you pulled out of a cereal box or made up or purchased through the mail, much like illegal aliens purchase their "documents".

Of course it has to do with tax credit, specifically tax credits to illegal aliens, which are people who should not be here to get said tax credit.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/...

Quote:
The Internal Revenue Service has allowed some foreigners to improperly claim tax credits that will cost the government nearly $9 billion, according to a federal report scheduled to be released today.

The report by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, which was obtained by The Washington Post in advance of its release, criticizes the IRS for lax oversight of foreigners who use an alternative form of identification instead of a Social Security number. Many of the foreigners who use the code, known as an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, are illegal immigrants, according to government officials and immigration experts.

The IRS has allowed companies who employ foreigners to file tax documents using this form of identification even though the law forbids it, the audit says. It said that 292,992 companies improperly reported wages totaling $9.5 billion in 2006 using those codes.

So there is a choice here. There are 11M taxpayers who receive a combined $1B in tax credits. That comes to $90 per head. This is not cash mind you. It is just a tax deduction.

On the other hand we have ONE company that does not pay any taxes at all and receives $3.2B in tax credits tax.

If it was really about tax credits then it would make more sense to direct your ire at the one giant target than at the 11M miniscule targets.

Seventy-eight of the 280 largest corporations in America paid zero or less federal taxes in the past three years.

both parties needs to write a bill and deport all illegals out of this country. any belongs that the illegals doesn't take back needs to be taken and auction off to cover their cost.

they should receive not be allow for a min of 5 yrs before they are allow back into our country

they broken the law when they came here, they have broken the law being here. they should not receive any kind of benefits from the u.s.a

it is one thing if they are here legally and another when they are not

we should never reward law breaker

unless we open all the doors in the jail house allow people to leave their confinement of jail

what the hell one law breaker should receive the same right as the other law breaker get... freedom

The article I posted stated they've received over $9-billion in tax credits. Another mentioned $4.2-billion in tax credits. Where you're getting $1-Billion is beyond me, but it's a low estimate. Plus, only 7,700,000 are actually working.

On top of that, you are missing the fact that they are getting these tax breaks ILLEGALLY and trying to compare it to a company getting tax breaks LEGALLY. Wrap your head around legal vs. illegal. There's a huge difference.

Your article stated $8.9B over five years. The article that this thread is based on says $10B over ten years. Do the math yourself.

This article actually stated the following:

Quote:
It would trim federal spending by about $10 billion over a decade.
End Quote

It doesn't specify exactly where that $10-billion will be saved, not to mention that $8.9-billion over 5 years is most definitely *more* than $1-billion per year.

Either way, people earning money illegally have no right to the monies, much less to get a refund for any reason.

The illegals can go home to their mother countries and work there.

You don't have the slightest clue of what you are talking about.
Directly from the article, the very first words;

"Republicans are looking to deny child tax credits to illegal immigrants — refund checks averaging $1,800 a family"

They never clarified that statement, but in the next sentence the article says this "would trim federal spending by about $10 billion over a decade". That is $1B per year and divided by 11M comes to $90 per head.$90 is slightly less than the $3,200,000,000 that GE received in tax credits.

Here is something everybody has left out of the debate. The deductions are only allowed if the child is a citizen or resident alien. So we are talking about tax deductions for US citizens here. Of course those people are the wrong type of citizens. We prefer them white.

No, we prefer them to be here legally, rather than earning money illegally, which makes said money ill-gotten gains. They are not even entitled to keep the money they earn or anything purchased with it, much less get a tax credit.

Those children are not working, nor are they receiving the monies. Your ignorance is astounding.

American corporations doing something legally -- whether you agree with it or not -- cannot be compared to people doing things illegally AND BEING REWARDED FOR IT. There already *is* a law saying illegal aliens do not belong here and are not able to work here. If you don't like what these American corporations are doing, fight to get a law disallowing it. Otherwise, STFU. We are basing our stand on present law. You're basing yours on what you like or don't like.

GE has nothing to do with this. We are upset and dealing with them to and we can deal with both at the same time or either one we choose. Personally I say get both and there is no reason we can't You bastards are always trying to make it one or the other and use distractions that have nothing to do with illegals.

Here is what you leave out, most of the illegals lie on there returns. PERIOD!

You are the only one besides me who has suggested going after corporations. We are not just talking about one company here either. There are at least 30 other major corporations who do the same thing as well as thousands of smaller ones.

Nobody is saying you have to choose, but every other poster on this thread has made it clear they think the $90 tax credit is more important than the $3.200,000,000 GE tax credit. That shows that either nobody is really concerned with the money or they are really bad at math.
