No illegal aliens deserve a tax break. How ridiculous to suggest otherwise. They don't even belong here and they are working ILLEGALLY! How does this country continue to suggest we reward law breakers? It's unfathomable people could be so stupid.

"Republicans are looking to deny child tax credits to illegal immigrants — refund checks averaging $1,800 a family — in an effort that has roused anger among Hispanics and some Democratic lawmakers."

Gee, why would that rouse anger among Democrats and hispanics? I mean any that are law abiding themselves?

Try to wrap your pea brain around these facts:

Working here without authorization (unless you're a citizen) is a crime. Thus, all monies earned are ill-gotten gains. When citizens earn monies through illegal means and are caught, they have that money and all items purchased with said money, confiscated. Why would you think illegal aliens are better than citizens and should be treated differently (better)??? Hmmmmm???

Illegal aliens are just lucky their money and possessions are not taken from them, as they should be.

Most illegal aliens, when filling out their W-4 form (by using a social security number that does not belong to them -- more CRIME), fill it out so the minimum (or nothing) is actually deducted, as they claim many dependents. So it's a moot point. They don't deserve social security, no matter what they put into it. Let that be a cost to them of being here illegally and working illegally and using a social that does not belong to them, possibly ruining someone else's life by doing so.

The ESF (Earnings Suspense Fund) is where all monies go that do not match a social security number with a name. Not all of it is from illegal aliens. Some of it is from citizens who had a name change and never informed social security of it.

Either way, illegal aliens do NOT qualify to get any money back, even though they *have* gotten money back.

Illegal Aliens Receive Billions in IRS Tax Benefits

By James Walsh

On July 7, 2011, the U.S. Department of Treasury's inspector general for tax
administration issued a startling report entitled "Individuals Who Are Not
Authorized to Work in the United States Were Paid $4.2 Billion in Refundable
Credits."

It is clear that unauthorized aliens are filing ITIN tax returns with
fraudulent data. The Treasury report found that "One common type of
fraudulent refund involves taxpayers fabricating a Wage and Tax Statement
(Form W-2) that shows excess withholding and results in a tax refund."

The Internal Revenue Service has allowed some foreigners to improperly claim tax credits that will cost the government nearly $9 billion, according to a federal report scheduled to be released today.

The report by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, which was obtained by The Washington Post in advance of its release, criticizes the IRS for lax oversight of foreigners who use an alternative form of identification instead of a Social Security number. Many of the foreigners who use the code, known as an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, are illegal immigrants, according to government officials and immigration experts.

The IRS has allowed companies who employ foreigners to file tax documents using this form of identification even though the law forbids it, the audit says. It said that 292,992 companies improperly reported wages totaling $9.5 billion in 2006 using those codes.

Quote:
The ESF has become a hotbed for debate over everything from immigration rights to identity theft, as it continues to accrue money at roughly $6 billion a year, with the total as of 2005 sitting at $519 billion.

As MSNBC reporter Bob Sullivan put it in an interview with ConsumerAffairs.com , the ESF is part of a "grand mystery," wherein money seems to disappear. But where does the money come from, what happens to it, and why isn't more being done about the problem?

According to a new Government Accountability Office (GAO) report on the usage of SSNs, the ESF contained 250 million records as of December 2004.(That's nearly as many records as there are people living in the United States currently.)

The GAO report stated that a disproportionate number of unmatched earnings reports come from industries such as "eating and drinking establishments and construction," and that, "a small portion of employers also account for a disproportionate number of ESF reports."

The report alludes to the fact that many unmatched earnings reports come from individuals using false SSNs, or legitimate SSNs that have been stolen and resold for undocumented workers to use.

Because the file is comprised of inaccurate earnings reports, it's impossible to estimate how many reports are added because of inaccuracies such as misspelled or mismatched names, and how many come from genuine cases of SSN-based identity fraud.

As it is, the current records of Social Security contributions from undocumented workers vary wildly, with figures anywhere from three to six percent representing their contributions per year.

you do know those jobs that illegal aliens stole would have been done by a citizens so all if any taxes paid in by an illegal alien is also taxes paid with stolen money.

Tell the government don't provide undocumented workers with ITIN numbers. Because it is kind of hypocrite to tell them they should't work, they are illegal, but open the hands to grt their ss payment, don't you thimk? Btw since you are a retired, please be nice and thank the undocumented workers, a part of the money you receive every month is because they work hard.

Perhaps you should educate yourself. Actually, no perhaps about it. You should most definitely educate yourself.

ITINs are NOT meant for work and do NOT give anyone the authority to work here. They provide LEGAL IMMIGRANTS who have not yet received their social security number but must file a join tax return with their spouse a way of doing so. They also provide foreign nationals who have money here earning interest (or other legal income --- investments, etc.) a way to pay the taxes they owe on that money. They are NOT for illegal aliens and they do NOT authorize work.

If illegals pay any taxes and don't get anything back, too bad. That's a cost to being here illegally. Suck it up. Don't like it? Go home, apply to come legally and, if you're accepted, come here and you'll have the benefits that legality provides.

You have no valid argument for illegals.

Please show me where I said I am retired. Yeah, you'll never be able to do so, because I'm not. I work for myself and have done this for a long time.

And no, anyone who is retired does NOT get money because some illegal alien ignorant works hard. They get money because *they* worked hard their whole life and paid into the system.

Your ignorance defies all logic. Low/no educated people do not make enough money to pay all you're claiming. And, most of them claim so many dependents that they don't pay taxes, other than social security and medicaid, and that sits in the Earnings Suspense Fund, along with funds paid by citizens who had a name change and never notified social security.

Get over yourself and your obvious love for law breakers. Does that love extend to citizen law breakers, or is it only illegal alien law breakers?

And, P.S., being self-employed means I not only pay the employees portion of the taxes, but the employers as well, so I pay double. No ignorant illegal working in some low paying job will ever be paying my way. Perhaps they'll be paying your way.

Illegal aliens got 4.2 billion from the child tax credit in 2010. Not counting the money it takes to have a baby, educating them for 12 years, welfare for 18 years, cost of putting them in prison and the lives of Americans killed and murdered by them which are more than Al Qaeda, the Taliban and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan has killed since 2001.

BTW, if they don't want the money taken out, stop working. Working is illegal for them anyway. When national E-Verify comes around they are going to lose their jobs anyway.

This is penny ante stuff. Compared to the corporate tax evaders it is not even worth mentioning.

The article mentioned that $1B per year is given in tax credits to taxpayers who happen to be undocumented.

Meanwhile, last year GE made $14.2B profit and paid nothing in taxes. They even received $3.2B in tax credits.

So here you have one company that received more than three times the amount of tax credits then the article alleges the combined 11M undocumented received. At least the undocumented paid taxes.

Where is the outrage?

I suspect many of the people ranting about this are also in favor of more tax breaks for companies like GE.

Obviously not very bright, are you? Any money that can be saved, should be. And saving money from people who should not be here is paramount. That tax break doesn't take into account the rest they cost us on a daily, monthly and yearly basis.

Again, what we do for citizens (and American corporations) has no bearing on illegal aliens breaking our laws. It does not give them that right, in any way, shape or form. To say otherwise is ignorant.

And, let's look at this:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/...

Quote:

You also seem to be missing something. We are on a forum for "immigration" and a thread for "GOP tax breaks for illegal immigrants" so why would we be discussing American corporations and what they do?

You're totally off topic here.

You asked "Where's the outrage" as if you were insinuating there wasn't any at all. I was pointing out to you that your ASSumption was in error and there is overt outrage. Maybe you're too dense to understand. Too bad.
