No big deal unless you are a criminal. Most honest law abiding "American Citizens" would not be affected.

So, it's settled then: YOU would rather see a woman face-down in an ally, raped, stabbed, and bleeding to death, because >YOU< consider an unarmed woman to be morally superior to a woman standing over her attacker with a smoking gun in her hand, right?

YOU would rather see women and innocent children RAPED AND MURDERED, instead of defending themselves against the likes of yourself, right PEDOPHILE?

Feds already collect fingerprints, record your height, weight hair and eye color, race ect...

How is DNA any different than your thumb print?

How many people are in Federal Prison for rape? Not very many. Why not make the people in state prisons give DNA? They are the ones that are likely more violent. Federal Prisons are mostly for whitecollar crimes, and now people arrested with x amount of crack. My hubby isnt a violent person. He is headed to Federal Prison for taking a minor hunting!! Because of a felony arrest 20yrs ago, now he cant be around any kind of gun.
Should he have to give a DNA sample? Just another way of the government taking our money. Like his lawyer said " The Feds have over a 95% secess rate of conviction. If people plead guilty and take a plea, they will only do 25-50% of the recommended time. So ofcourse its in everyones best intrest to plea out, unless you want to take it to jury trial and end up doing more time than you would of if you had taken a plea."
Im sorry but I like my privacy!
Umm, when did it become a crime to take a minor hunting?

Just get some old innertubes tie them to your feet and the other end to the bridge and yell Airborne. But throw your pitt first to test the wind and don't forget your little hat with the tin foil in side and the propeller on top. Did you go to N.C. State by any chance?

I was being sarcastic. I dont like it in the military, but I dont have a choice in the matter. They do it anyway. I think its kind of dumb.

It would be better to just collect the DNA and thumb print of everyone at birth.
However, I am perfectly fine with the government collecting the DNA from anyone arrested by a federal law enforcement agency. Just don’t break the law.
I voted for the California State version of this bill a few years ago.
Would it be better for DNA to be a matter of public record as not to give the government a monopoly on your DNA information. I do not trust them that much. Shouldn't others be privy to your DNA records also as sort of a sencond witness.

they will use this as an excuse to arrest everyone, just to get a taste of everybody. here is a good example, you sell some tools and they are used in a robbery, now you did not commit the crime, but wait your dna is on them. and they know it is your dna, because you got stopped last month for speeding and they took a dna sample. so now you are doing 10 to 15 for acrime you did not commit, and bubba is using your butthole for target practice. still think this only effects criminals? wake up grandpa, before your grandkids are all doing time, george orwell was right.

Be afraid of your government. Be very afraid of this government. These bastards will not be happy until they have windows into men's souls. You will have to be very brave in the coming new world.
I wish I could sensor you for that remark, there is not enough of them to do that! I am sure you say you love America too, but talk doo doo about the Government of us for us by us, there is only one way to change things and that is to be active. You have every opportunity and right to change things if you want. The only reason why things are the way they are is because of ones own willingness to take part and be an active agent in
your Government affairs.. How about new things on the horizon, have you ever taken a look at all the
University Grads that study in our Nations Capitol? They will have the power, they work for
social change, they may even like to party, just like ummm, just like a normal person does. Don't be blind, comments against the state dont't fly anymore, to me its lazy, useless and has a bitter stench. To be frank, the only cause and concern
I have within any enemy in ranks is one who harasses his own Country. Every day your promised
a great day! Do not even consider myself to be ignorant, because the current state of affairs belongs to that of having a conscious and using it, I do not believe there is one person who consciously and knowingly destroys people, if they do they are without faith and understanding.
These are the tools that are needed! I will admit there are a lot of leaders and people with power that have less wits, less understanding of how they impact others, the nature of this game is not a blame game. You want to vocalize yourself properly? Write your politician, run for office,
its all there waiting for you? Did you vote? I'm sick of you potato munching, whining, complaining, claiming how you love freedom but don't know how to cherish it and defend dim wits. Making remarks
that discredit many good peoples efforts, you don't want your own Government representing your own Country in a certain way, you let them know. Because ultimately we are the Masters and they are the Servants, it is why we elect them into office.
So hold them accountable. Call them, "bastards and be afraid" it ain't happening' Captain. I am sure if you ruled the Country things would be really great, huh? Sorry to cut you down, next time you cut down -OUR- own Country like that don't do it in front of some one who fights for it. A**hole!

Who is to blame for the government the American Citizens have. The American Citizens.

Somewhere in the Declaration Of Independence there is a few words that state, "Government By The People and For The People". The government is the result of how the people vote.

Yes i did read the article. The federal officers usually don't arrest somebody until they have a very good case against them ( usually!!!). They do make mistake too. But if you have nothing to worry about or to hide whats the problem?

We discussed this topic in one of my CJ classes last year and I honestly believe everyone has a right to privacy and I think it should be that person's choice whether or not they want to have a record of their DNA in CODIS. If I were asked if I wanted to do it I would probably say yes, only if on the offchance something should happen to me there is that DNA to prove who I am.
But there could be other issues that go along with this, such as, cloning.
For issues of criminal record than yes, I am all for it. Having that DNA may be the only thing in solving aa criminal case.
