I think I should point out something about "the king has no clothes". He is a troll. Unfortunately, he is also apparently very good at it. I have viewed and posted on several forums and he has been spewing the same rhetoric on all of them. I do not know what his true agenda is, but I and many others, have noticed a trend. He will not answer your questions directly, his posts are generally unrelated to the topic, and he disrupts the continuity of the topic threads.

Respond to him at your own risk.

Thanks...Now back to the debates!

Ahh.....but the question is....Have I been wrong about anything? Have I given an opinion or information that can be disproved or didn't have a qualifier or footnote? The problem is, I present another way of looking at things and I can prove what I'm saying and it's not what people want to hear. The other problem is, I'm old and have seen all this before and I care enough to sit here, do the research and try to inject some truth into all the propaganda.

Yes, I know there are people fighting and dying on both sides. That is why conversations like this need to take place. My son is was one of them. A ten year Army vet, now disabled with little help from the VA.

These people that are dying are dying under false pretenses and they are dying for, among many other things, oil and imperialism.

Torture is bad and doesn't work and is illegal under the Genva Convention, which we signed. Integrity and honor matter. If we give up the rule of law, we give away everything and all the advances we've made as human beings. I think the issue is larger than just intelligence gathering. I understand there are terrorists and radicals that want to kill Americans. Maybe we better ask ourselves, why? I, too, want my family protected but there are other ways that don't involve giving our humanity away.

Do you seriously think a terrorist cares about what someone on Topix posts? lol There are a lot more disturbing things posted than what I post! I am more concerned with what of mine some telecommunications company is giving the government. There's something wrong in America when you have to watch what you say.

Once again, if I have given mistaken information I have no problem being corrected. Name calling accomplishes nothing.

"people willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both"
You and your ilk absolutely deserve EXACTLY what you have coming. Your idiocy reminds me of the cheering university students as Pol Pot rolled triumphantly through the streets of Phnom Penh. The American version of the Khmer Rouge has already taken over your country and started secret prisons, torture, and who knows what else and idiots like you are cheering and supporting this dramatic loss of freedom.
In the not too distant future, when ALL Americans are considered "terror suspects" and you and your loved ones are marched out to the killing fields by your beloved Gestapo, keep in mind that you have been begging for this to happen to you and your loved ones and NOBODY on earth deserves it as much as you do.
As I said before you are a DUMB ASS! The big difference in me and you is that I can protect MY own ass you accept what everyone tells you and bend over and spread your cheeks! "DUMMIE"

Have no fear, democrats will not move for impeachment. They lack conviction. As all can see this latest congress, controlled by democrats has accomplished virtually nothing.Lots of talk, lots of rhetoric and lots of nothing. Collectively they have nary a hair on their fannies.

FORMIDABLE FOE
America is the birthday cake of earth
As the ants march from every direction.
Thank God for all who have sworn to defend her
Serving with love, honor, pride, and affection.
Since the first day George Washington marched off to war
There have been those who have wished our demise.
Their hatred, fueled by jealousy and greed
Was defeated by our brave and the wise.
Once again, we must face a formidable foe
Who have pledged by their God to destroy us all
Misusing their faith as an excuse to kill
As for a worldwide jihad, their leaders call.
Some say we should try to appease them
For if we resist, they’ll hate us even more.
But the David's among us shall cast our stones
Defeating them, as it was done before.
THE HORNETS of HELL
The hornets of hell swarm from their nest
Overwhelming all the victims they can.
To sting as many souls as possible
In their destruction of the glory of man.
They murder, rob, rape and plunder
While provoking the meek to submit.
They lie, deceive and mislead
And depend on the world to forget.
Eager to enhance their numbers
They are the cheerleaders of disgrace.
Their agendas of sin must be stopped
For the betterment of each race.
Endless is God’s test of time
To measure man’s spiritual worth
Unwholesome deeds tempt us all
Festering in the repugnance of earth.
The hornets of hell are on the hunt
In all directions by day or night.
The Armor of God shields man’s soul
And gives us our resolve to fight.
The champions of heaven in rapture await
To see who will stumble and fall.
They watch us struggle, in our world of woe
As they pray we will heed, God’s call.
Fools declare we must hide from view
And leave the hornets of hell alone
But when we ignore the liabilities of life
The failings of man become, our own.

Peace
You are absolutely correct.
So far all I have seen from this congress are subpoenas and harassment of public officials and private individuals.
No real action taken. Just a lot of feel-good rhetoric.
I also recall a previous post accusing those with religious convictions of having no compassion.
Where is the compassion from liberals for conservatives and their ideals?
Liberals falsley hide under the guise of freedom of speech, expression but let a conservative attempt to speak then they do their best to shout or close them down.
Liberalism and political correctness are the real Neo-Fascism.
Which I define as a means of attempting to silence those who would disagree with a liberal view by shouting them down or as is the case with several universities when "Youn Republicans" attempted to sell politically correct cookies.
Shut them down because they were creating a possibility of violence.
And I thought all liberals wanted was peace....
That would explain many events of the anti-war years when these peaceful hippies would commence rioting, burning ROTC buildings on campus, etc.
Also let us not forget the police officers they injured in the name of peace.
Yet when one dares to disagree with a liberal then they automatically refer to that person as a fascist in an attempt to shut them up and shut them down.
Liberals in spite of their high-sounding talk and soap box speeches really do not wish free discourse. They want control. That is all.

Very well said.

I would also add that we the USA are not fighting for our freedom in Iraq, we are fighting for the freedoms of Iraqi's who won't even fight for it, so why should we pay in lives for thier freedom.
We have our freedom here at home or whats left of it, and paying our tax dollars to rebuild Iraq's infrastructure so the oil companies can have access to thier oil is horse shit..... how much is the oil companies going to pay for our protection of the oil fields now and in the future??? Repukes are just stupid.

I guess you didn't get my post.
One explanation of pseudo intellectualism means lacking the background knowledge and experience to have an informed opinion.
All he is doing is repeating the typical GOP talking points in a format that tries to show bravado and intellectualism. When in reality it hides fear.
Patriotism as used by the right has begun to mean nothing more than hate. The right also seems to think they are the living example of the word.

This is not an honest question. Why would I be given that power? You are trying to put me in a impossible position, but I will answer you anyway.

I would hope that his captors would take into consideration that the U.S. doesn't torture and abides by the rule of law. My son understands the importance of the rule of law. You'll find I'm always honest.
