guess what, the sky IS falling.
u know that feeling u get in the pit of ur stomach when the power goes off and then the gas runs out for ur emergency generator and then u run out of kerosene and candles? well, our National lights are flickering (the Nation based on the DofI and the Const, that is).
in other words, ANY form of government or society differing from our original template is a step towards darkness. it is regression. consider this: if the birth of our Nation was the pinnacle of Mankind's societal/self-governing achievements, EVERYTHING else is downhill from there, right?
after 170 yrs of NO FG:
welfare
meddling in public ed
meddling in mortgages
Dept of Energy
EPA
Homeland Scty
FEMA
student loans
affirmative action
NAFTA, etc...
AND NOW THIS?
u'v heard of the famous 'slippery slope', right? well, we've been on one these past 50+ yrs and it is getting slicker and steeper.
our national movement towards oblivion (the destruction of our Constitutional Republic, etc...) is like the little snowball rolling downslope. as it goes, it grows in size and speed. if left unchecked, it WILL hit bottom and self-destruct, taking all that it accumulated in its descent, right? it IS inevitable... it is a Law of Nature.
we are now at the point in the snowball's path that stopping it WILL result in SOME damages NO MATTER WHAT. the question is, then, SOME damages or total DESTRUCTION?
fiscal responsibilty means massive FG spending reductions. reductions in military (50%) and UN-Constitutional social programs (100%) and, therefore, the FG overhead itself (50-75%).
u like/want Federal welfare? simple, AMEND the Constitution. take away MY (and others) argument. test ur opinion that food stamps and Sec 8 Housing, etc. ARE favored by the vast majority of ur fellow citizens. go ahead, I DARE YOU.
the Founders designed the 'change' process to be both slow AND deliberate AND by a super majority of ALL of the People and States. that way it be both readily acceptable and Constitutional.
the Progressive/usurpers way has let directly to our present day divided society. we all know what the original Lincoln said about a 'House Divided', right?

A cabal of landlords forms a political action committee to exercise their First Amendment rights to support candidates who will advance their agenda.

Although the cabal has cash galore, the landlords can't give the money away because candidates are barred from accepting large donations. So the cabal sets up a "political consulting business" and provides the candidates with all the services they can use for free or at cut rates.

City Hall would echo with outrage that the nefarious cabal had conspired to steal elections by trashing New York's stringent public campaign financing rules. So how come no one seems particularly upset that such a plot has just been uncovered?

Perhaps because the actors were not evil landlords but the leadership of the Working Families Party, a union-backed organization whose endorsements are sought after by mainstream Democrats. Let them not bite the hand that feeds them.

The party set up a supposedly profit-making business that supplies services like contact lists and manpower to turn out the vote. The candidates, it is said, pay market rates for the help.

There are two problems. First, the party and the company are one and the same - same address, same employees, same bosses. Second, the party does a lot more to help its candidates. Which the party is entitled to do as long as it acts independently of the candidate - or as long as the value of its assistance stays within strict donation guidelines.

Neither of those appears to be the case, signaling that the Working Families Party has likely funneled big unreported contributions to candidates, most prominently public advocate contender Councilman Bill de Blasio.

Kudos to the Campaign Finance Board for blowing the whistle on this scam. The panel must now closely police the party's actions in the runup to the Sept. 15 Democratic primary. And then the board must audit all the campaigns to find out which among them took public financing under fraudulent pretenses. The penalties for any violations must be severe...

Just imagine if this was a Republican Scam????
Thanks once again to the Obama Controlled Media

Mitt Romney Ad Criticizes Obama For Welfare Policy Romney Supported As Governor

By Arthur Delaney Posted: 08/07/2012

WASHINGTON -- Mitt Romney's presidential campaign released a television ad Tuesday bashing President Barack Obama for implementing a welfare policy that Romney supported when he was governor of Massachusetts....

Romney's ad doesn't mention that Republican states sought the waiver policy. In a release defending its waiver request from conservative backlash last month, the office of Utah Gov. Richard Herbert (R) said, "Utah's request for a waiver stems from a desire for increased customization of the program to maximize employment among Utah’s welfare recipients."

The ad also doesn't mention that the Republican Governors Association asked Congress for even broader welfare waivers in 2005, in a letter signed by 29 Republican governors, including Romney.

"Increased waiver authority, allowable work activities, availability of partial work credit, and the ability to coordinate state programs are all important aspects of moving recipients from welfare to work," the governors wrote.....(cont.)

Here's How Mitt Romney Might Have Paid No Taxes
August 7, 2012

.....If Romney has paid taxes, as he insists, he could clear up the whole controversy by simply releasing several years' worth of tax returns, beyond the 2010 return and the 2011 estimate he's already released. But he has refused, and there may be good reason for that. "I wouldn't be surprised if he paid nearly zero taxes in 2008 and 2009," says Brad Badertscher, an accounting professor at the University of Notre Dame. "It's going to look bad no matter what he does." (Cont.)

Harry Reid’s smear attack on Mitt Romney masks Dems’ problems
Weak economy, no job growth and huge deficits should be the real target
When he descended into smarmy innuendo about Mitt Romney’s taxes, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was merely executing a tactic that is increasingly central to President Obama’s reelection campaign.
High unemployment and trickling job production have foreclosed Obama from running strong on his domestic record. So he’s painting Romney as a rich, out-of-touch tax chiseler as a distraction from the accumulating woeful economic reports.
Reid took the rhetoric into the pits with a claim that someone had told him Romney had not paid taxes for 10 years, thereby filling a vacuum left by Romney’s release of only one year’s tax returns with a promise of one more.
The transparency of Reid’s cheap theater puts Washington’s economic betrayal of the American people on direct view. Democrats and Republicans alike have been complete busts in reviving the economy — and now they’ve done one worse.
A stunning New York Times story on Monday convicted them of gross malfeasance. The country is marching toward the so-called fiscal cliff that Congress created to get past the paralyzing fight over raising the debt ceiling.
Come the new year, defense spending plummets by $400 billion, forcing tens of thousands of layoffs. The Democrats insisted on the huge hit to force Republicans to accept tax hikes produced by the end of the Bush-era cuts.
What The Times revealed is that companies have scrapped hiring plans out of fear of an enormous meltdown. The firms want to take on people, but the picture is too uncertain and they see their customers pulling back as well.
IN OTHER WORDS, REID & CO. HAVE GONE BEYOND DOING NOTHING. THEY ARE INFLICTING REAL HARM.

You wingnuz are hilarious, all Reid did is take a page out of the GOPers playbook and use it against you and you pathetic morons are falling all over each other denouncing it! It is a true and tried tactic used by the rightwing regularly - what poetic justice we love it!

A conservative case against Mitt Romney
Barack Obama is not the reason the nation has lost its way, and Mitt Romney isn't the answer

By Joe Walsh
August 7, 2012

The time for conservatives to compromise has come and gone. The time for decisive and prudential judgments in our votes has arrived, and that means abandoning Mitt Romney this election....Romney stands by himself as a solid candidate for the presidency, but we are told we must get rid of the main problem, President Obama, even if it means settling for the lesser of two evils. This logic appears solid, but for the fact that it is based on two fundamentally flawed premises. One being: Mr. Obama is the problem. Two being: Mr. Romney is the solution.

Mr. Romney is anything but the ideal candidate. He is not running a campaign based on his plans or record but on why Mr. Obama has failed. We all know President Obama has failed. I want to know how Mr. Romney plans to fix America...He has no economic plan. And his record as governor of Massachusetts shows he supported the government welfare state and constant government intrusions into the personal lives of American citizens.(Cont.)

Yep. That's what I've been saying. He doesn't have a Plan, and if he does, it's almost as much a well kept secret as his income tax returns.

My favorite ‘retard’ is still at it! Job Creators, those magic words, the sound bite dates back to 1993, when Republicans deployed the same "job killing" language against the Clinton upper-income tax increases that proceeded the 1990's economic boom but don’t be fooled. It’s not the mega rich that crate jobs, it is the ‘middle class consumer,’ when they have money to buy the things that are produced and manufactured, big and small businesses thrive and start ups are sprouting up all over the country! The wealthy already have their money they are not starting any businesses to “make it rich”! In fact, most small businesses take years to show a profit let alone huge profits. People know, there is simply no way the GOPers are going to convince anyone that our economic disaster is NOT a direct result of 8 years failed Bush policies no matter how hard they try with their huge propaganda machinery!

If Romney is lucky this tax thing will come up in a debate with Obama and then Romney can ask Obama what happened to his promise of totally refamping the tax laws. Aphelion wrote:
Eleven Reasons Obama Is Bad For America
There are many reasons Socialist President Obama is bad for America. Let me count the ways:
Reason One: Obama is a divider not a uniter. In Obama's class warfare world, those making more than $200,000 a year if single and $250,000 a year if married are "rich". It does not matter that these might be hard working, well educated professionals, or small business men and women who work 7/24, since these people make more than Obama's PEEP's, those that pay no income taxes at all, those on the dole, illegal aliens and some union members, though there are many union members making very good money, the "rich" are to be milked for their wealth to redistribute their income to Obama's PEEP's in the name of "social justice". As such, Obama is not the President of the United States, he is the President of his PEEP's, which also includes companies benefiting from Obama's crony capitalism that contribute to Socialist campaigns.
Reason Two: Obama is at war with the private sector. Obama is the most anti-business President since Franklin Roosevelt. Obama believes in big government Socialist tax and spend schemes to solve every societal problem, rather than free market capitalism. Socialists tolerate Capitalists only because they too must be milked to redistribute the wealth they create to give to Obama's PEEP's. And, in Obama's world, Capitalists that create jobs are evil people taking advantage of his PEEP's, that should be paid more money to work less, even though Obama's PEEP's often have no education, or job skills. Since businessmen and women are evil in Obama's eyes, they must be regulated as the only way to control their evil, greedy tendencies and activities.
Reason Three: Obama practices crony Capitalism. Green companies are given government subsidies to compete with "evil companies" particularly in the energy sector. Obama's other friends like the big banks and GE are given bail outs. We now see scandals emerging as Obamanistas have provided billions of dollars to their company friends in bail outs and subsidies and in return those same companies have contributed hundred of millions of dollars in a quid pro quo to Socialist campaigns. Obama's Gestapos, the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Labor Relations Board are used as enforcers to reward favored companies and punish companies that do not support Socialists. The EPA is out to destroy the carbon and nuclear based energy sectors while rewarding "green technologies" that are not feasible today. This is all about picking losers and winners rather than allowing free market capitalism to prevail.
Your pathetic assertions are straight out of the rightwing ‘ministry of propaganda’ entirely based in gossip and innuendo! People know, there is simply no way the GOPers are going to convince anyone that our economic disaster is NOT a direct result of 8 years failed Bush policies no matter how hard they try with their huge propaganda machinery!

here's a question for all u posters that keep citing 'sources' to back up ur claims (I'm referring to ALL posters): why do u NEED outside sources?
I have my original public ed education, my own self-education, my own 59 yrs life-experiences, my own info gathering ability (watch as many, varied 'news' sources, campaign videos, etc...), use my own BS filter, follow my own gut.
I've heard and/or seen video of Obama making anti-American, pro-Marxist statements. I know what is in the Constitution. I know that I, like 100% of us, have some biases and prejudices, that I DO profile people and things on a daily basis... as we ALL do. I understand, maybe only on an elementary level, Human Nature. I can study AND comprehend History.
all of this allows me to come to my own conclusions. it allows me to seperate the wheat from the chaff, the IMPORTANT from the distracting and therefore meaningless.
I understand that Romney is NOT the best that the opposition has to offer. I also understand that he is, however, both BETTER and NOT Obama. at best, he is a TRANSITION Pres... from anti-American O to maybe, MAYBE a TP/People's candidate in 2016 (IF we can get THAT much farther).
more importantly, a Pres R is more likely to sign TP-influenced legislation (provided any emerges in the coming years) than Pres O.
now, if anybody wants more of what we have had these past 2 yrs, please, vote for O. the House is NOT gonna change. and, the Senate may very well change, too.
if u want more Imperial Presidential actions, please, vote for O. that is the ONLY way he will be able to govern, by ExecOrder. govern is too weak a word for that type of Pres, RULE is more like it.
so, if u want to be RULED, please, vote for Obama.
COME On Nov.
