Ok, it's not enough considering how many jobs we were losing, but it's a start.
I suppose the GOP house of (alleged) representatives will try to pass some new legislation to get us back to the negative job growth.

The bailout of the car industry was worth it, and growth will cheer Obama - but there are some worrying long-term trends The latest US jobs numbers proved surprisingly strong, and will be a further boost to president Barack Obama as he gears up for an election that will be all about the economy.

Judged: 3 2 2 The total number of unemployed fell below 13 million for the first time since February 2009, while the total amount of employed Americans rose to 141.6 million, an increase of 847,000 from December. The unemployment rate was last this low in February 2009 as well. The closely watched labor-force participation number, which can skew the unemployment rate, was unchanged at 63.7 percent. Unemployment for blacks plunged from 15.8 percent to 13.6 percent, while the rate for Hispanics fell from 11.0 percent to 10.5 percent. The teen unemployment rate rose one-tenth to 23.2 percent. The so-called real unemployment rate, which measures discouraged workers as well and is referred to as the U-6, nudged lower to 15.1 percent. Long-term unemployment, though, remains a problem, with the duration dropping from a near-record 40.8 weeks to 40.1 weeks. Also, the level of discouraged workers surged, rising 7 percent to its highest level since December 2010. Job growth remains one of the two missing pieces of the recovery puzzle, even though the rate has been on a steady trek lower |

Judged: 3 3 2 sabotage the economic recovery, it's happening. Let them explain how or why this socialistic, America-hating president has saved American capitalism. Not just for the corporate elite (the Republican constituency), but for all Americans. In other words, let Romney and Gingrich and the rest of those GOP Bozos rave on. Obama will look successful that these Republican Bozos will have to resort to demonizing his daughters. |

Judged: 3 3 3 "Implied Unemployment Rate Rises To 11.5%, Spread To Propaganda Number Surges To 30 Year High": "Sick of the BLS propaganda? Then do the following calculation with us: using BLS data, the US civilian non-institutional population was 242,269 in January, an increase of 1.7 million month over month: apply the long-term average labor force participation rate of 65.8% to this number (because as chart 2 below shows, people are not retiring as the popular propaganda goes: in fact labor participation in those aged 55 and over has been soaring as more and more old people have to work overtime, forget retiring), and you get 159.4 million: that is what the real labor force should be. The BLS reported one? 154.4 million: a tiny 5 million difference. Then add these people who the BLS is purposefully ignoring yet who most certainly are in dire need of labor and/or a job to the 12.758 million reported unemployed by the BLS and you get 17.776 million in real unemployed workers. What does this mean? That using just the BLS denominator in calculating the unemployed rate of 154.4 million, the real unemployment rate actually rose in January to 11.5%." - Tyler Durden, zerohedge.com |

Judged: 1 1 1 The United States created jobs at the fastest pace in nine months in January and the unemployment rate unexpectedly dropped to a near three-year low, giving a boost to President Barack Obama. Obama will be re-elected. |

Judged: 2 2 1 A. The economy took a dive when Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid took over congress and surprise when Republicans take back the house, the economy starts getting better. Obama has nothing to do with it. B. The leaders in job creation are the red states, republican led. Nobama won't even visit most of them, as they are a thorn in his lies. |

Judged: 1 1 1 Keep drinking the kool aid to bad you didnt meet Mr. Jones. Explain to me how there could be nearly 2 MILLION workers lost in the seasonal jobs report and why if the economy is doing so damned good why we still have record foreclosures in the housing market and nearly 40 MILLION people added to the foodstamp kings total? Why is gas over 3.50 a gallon and why is unemployment still above 8.55 % even if you trust the lies being told to you I am eager to consider any logical response Logical being the key |
