It has consistently been the REPUBLICAN PARTY that has tried to drill on our own soil but the NIMBYs have fought this tooth and nail (NIMBY-Not In My Back Yard). Ruin the ecology? Looked at Texas lately. A BEAUTIFUL State. Looked at DUBAI lately, more construction than anywhere else in the world.

How about a windfall tax on Oprah Winfrey? She makes $200 million dollars a year and has a busload of accountants and lawyers teach her how to avoid taxes with her bogus charities.
Plus, Oprah's eating habits have created a food shortage and food price increase due to supply and demand.

What I don't quite get is that the Big Bad Profit Making Polluting Oil Companies (snark)(one of which is my employer) have invested a lot of money in these "alternative energy sources" as well - solar, windy, etc.
