The article said his FOID card was revoked in 2002, and I expect that would require a conviction. However, even if he was not convicted, his card was revoked, and that made the ownership of the guns illegal.

ATF would be in the city of CHICAGO if the NEW CHIEF WOULD ALLOW IT. Tank's case was a rough one. His need to have a FOID card was questionable as non-residents MAY have guns in IL if lawfully owned in their home state. Tank MAY have been an AZ resident--non-residents can't get a FOID. That asside, the big thing with Tank was;

1) Shooting in the backyard (not safe where he lived).

2) Having a pal of ill-repute as a live-in security guard--a felon no less-who had lots of dope laying about. Kids in the house all the while.

3) Guns laying around where known doper (see above) and kids can access them.

4) As said, on probation at the time and not suposed to have the guns.

And it goes on. Tank likes shooting for relaxation he says. He was young, rich and made some dumb choices about the company he was keeping--he's paid a pretty hefty price for those mistakes in many ways.

Sometimes people who have no criminal records at all get involved in a domestic dispute. I would not say that makes a thug. There is nothing in the article to indicate that he has ever been involved in criminal activity, or the selling of guns. You just take joy that some rich white guy caught with guns and no FOID card. Don't worry, this is nothing that a good lawyer and a little patience and cash won't solve.

When was the last time there was a drive-by shooting--Evanston excluded--in the North Shore suburbs? Surely the ATF's efforts could be better focused in areas where such shootings take place with alarming frequency and where their actions would save the lives of real people. I think ATF and other police agencies steer clear of these areas because they fear the reverends and the "civil rights" grievance machine.

Unbelievable......this guy was trying to prepare for what the rest of you believe is a pipe dream. The day will come when they try to take away everyones guns. The President can declare Martial Law at the drop of a hat....who will protect you then? If you can't protect yourself...oh well! This guy was one step ahead. Unfortunately someone obviously had a grudge and decided to make some trouble for him. This is becoming a part of everyday life. Turn people in just because you can. You can bet they will try to destroy him any way they can now. That's how it works people.

Fair enought But you do not need to be convicted in IL to be revoked. And I do think the guy is a dumb A__. I just ask why ATF on a state matter

You missed the point stupid. The ATF will raid the supplier of guns.

Just like any other person involved in illegal activities and they are at the top of the food chain, they appear to be normal. Thats how "we" stay undected for so long.. LOL

I would agree that in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA if you have $$$$ CASH $$$$ this will be solved..
