Exactly !!!!<quoted text> real simple, our politicians of both parties are in the reaction business, not the action business. it is undeniable that the tree hugging luddites and their sychophants the democrats are most responsible for this mess. No nuclear plants in 30m yrs.? the dems? no drilling in ANWR? the dems. no more offshore drilling? the dems.
T. boone pickens wants gigantic wind generators, who will volunteer their land for the transmission lines? not many of either party will. gigantic solar farms? where? where will the transmission lines go? I'm not opossed to these things, but there are many nonpractical obstacles to overcome right now. Nuclear doesn't require any new stuff, the dems have bitterly oppossed it for 30 yrs.
now, where do u put the blame?
Bush could weaken Endangered Species Act

Thanks, but I could tell you are an animal lover. Animal story: After this cat next door to a friend's house had kittens, she looked like she had gone "a little funny in the head" and started pulling the kittens through the fence and take them one by one to some new place. The bulldog that lived in the fence with her was trying to keep her from taking the kittens and this bird that harassed the cat daily was chirping madly at her all the way down the street, just hopping all around her. She was in some kind of daze and that poor bulldog was so scared and concerned and barking at her when she would leave with another kitten. The kittens were whining, the bird was chirping, and the dog was barking. I thought I might have dreamt the whole thing. It was an amazingly dramatic and intimate scene to witness. I think that people who don't see how incredible animals are just don't look. They are probably not inclined to find much of anything incredible now that I think of it. |

Two things : Useful fools don't care about practicality , only for more power to those they follow . Imagine how much their power-base would erode if suddenly nuclear power was cool . |
THAT IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE! Everyone else in the world is beginning to hate us or has hated us for a long time and why? Because they claim that we get involved in their business forget everyone let's take care of the PEOPLE living here now |

In the last 230 years , can you name one administration that has not acted the exact same as the Bush administration . Just one . It is proven fact that around 60% of Americans would be incapable of handling 100% of there own affairs if government ceased to be . |

Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Fillmore, Garfield (only had 5 months), Cleveland, FDR, JFK (2 1/2 years), and maybe Carter. If you mean not being obviously selfish and self serving instead of having the best interests of the country and listening to the people. |

Get your prejudices out of the way and check again . Every single president in the history of this country has been accused of the things you say . Talk about Carter , that MORON caused my father to leave 1,100 acres of soybeans in the field . I meet him once at a Habitat For Humanity conference , two-faced , backstabbing , generally a worthless piece of sh@t . JFK , stranded 6,000 Cuban Americans on a beach-head and Killed millions of fish in Tongan bay in order to escalate the war in Vietnam . FDR ,( war time president ) of course he lied to the American people ,( he would have been a complete moron not to ). I could go on and on ! |

I love a good argument by the way . Especially when both sides are right as in this case . I am not a Bush supporter , I voted for him twice because the other choices would have caused far more harm to this country . I also voted for Bill Clinton twice , not real happy with that one either , but I like him . Bill is not really a Democrat , he is more of a Clintonite .( He still lied and caused no telling how much pain and misery in the world .) I could never vote for Hillary ( meet her once at a fund-raiser and one of my x-girlfriends was her bodyguard when Bill was in the white house . I know way too many bad things about her . Obama , well his record speaks for itself ( what a minute no it does not )( who is he ?) he will not be ready to lead for at least another 20 years . I would have voted for Powell or Rice in a second . |

Remove your prejudice. I qualified with a difference between self gain and good for the country. I asid maybe on Carter and you use a personal retort. I said JFK only had 2 1/2 years and although Bay of Pigs was a total CF, he made that decision on what he thought was best for the country. FDR most assuradly lied and fibbed again best for the country. I dont think Bush had a thimble full of morality or best intentions for the country. His interests are personal wealth and family, global positioning. btw- the list that contained way more than one or the three you retorted to were off the top of the head. Given time for research I believe that most of our Presidents had good intentions for the whole has compared to personal advantage outweighing that good. That does not mean they did not reap personal advantage, that means their prorities were aligned. |

We agree , for the most part . Probably not on Bush , but only history will tell on his presidency . Anything said now is just speculation and personal opinion . The way I look at things , if a president does more good than harm , he was a good one . They all do good , they all do harm . They are all in it for personal gain , politics is a career after all . That is one job I would never want . As the saying goes " Absolute power absolutely corrupts " As a general rule ,Republican fixes take longer to work , but last longer . Democrat fixes work faster but have to be redone more often . Both fixes hurt people , both fixes help people . Both parties are needed . |

I am sure he would have tried , Make for one hell of a movie it would . Seriously though , what Obama says he will do and what he will do are two totally different things . |
I thank Gaia that had I stayed I'd still be really far from you. Clever the way you changed the boldface "Endoperma Wrote" from the reply. Thanks for the slurping compliment. How can that possibly be dull? Endosperm is the nutritious substance on the inside of a seed coat which provides the sprouting embryo food (so that it does not die while its roots are developing). By the way. I am not "ooo". |
