There's only one problem with the idea of a Hillary Clinton - Barack Obama "Dream Team" ticket - neither member of the team is ready to buy the dream.

I am a 65 year old white lady who had been supporting Hillary both morally and financially. So far I had donated to her campaign the sum of $1200 but NOT ANY MORE. It appears to me Hillary and her campaign do not like or love America. They are in this election for themselves and to repay her lobyists some favors. That disturbs me a lot! What she says and does are two different things. She has no intergrity, no moral values left for a president to rule a nation. She is a liar and addicted to it! She is a destroyer and keen on it with pleasure! She is a divider and desperate to accomplish it!It is about time someone drag her out off this race. She is a symbol of shame and disgrace for descent American women. She says and does anything to win a nomination! But that aint gonna happen, not this time around! Are people not seeing that the more she hates and bends on destroying OBAMA the more this young man is favored! The blind (Hillary/Bill) leading the blind(her supporters) are all ending to a ditch of self-destruction. We talk about peace, she is on about another war to obliterate a whole nation "Iran". There is already damage on us beyond our boundaries. When African American had all this while been voting for white politicians, no one called it a "race card being played on me"! Now they vote for a Black, it is called a race card played on me? THIS IS A PATHETIC POLITICAL GIMMICK! WE AMERICANS ARE NOT RACIST! THOSE WHO ARE ARE NOT AMERICANS! My cash goes to Obama! My support goes to Obama! He is desperate to unite us and heal our wound globally! MAY ALL THOSE WHO RISE UP AGAINST HIM FALL! MAY ALL THOSE WHO ACCUSE HIM PROVED TO BE WRONG! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS OBAMA 08. I AM DONATING HIM $1700

The only way the Democrats will be sure to win in November is if Obama and Hillary are on the same ticket.

Now for the real pros --

The Democrats will be united once again, the Democrats as we stand are in a total state of disarray going into this thing..

Obama's supporters will be forced to realize that Hillary Clinton and Bill to are the most successful and accomplished Democrats our country has sen in our life time.

Hillary's supporters will be forced to see Obama's dreams and hopes for America.

Bill Clinton can seriously help, this is like having two Presidents in Obama and Clinton and a third bonus President with Bill in the White House and all very focused, determined, intelligent Democrats. Stop trashing the 'opposition' and look at the potential for what this could do to help America get back on track. The next President will need all the help he or she can get with all that Bush has done to utterly destroy us.

We can all stop fighting with each other, finally. If Hillary is not on the ticket, we will keep fighting for quite some time, do we really want to keep this tone with each other up another 4 or 8 years? indefinitely? lose the White House over it? possibly the whole party?

The future of the Democratic party will be secure

If anything should happen to the President, the best possible choice will be right there as VP rather than some unproven rookie.

The Democrats will blow John McCain away with a dream ticket like this

The list goes on and on..

Now the cons -

We will have to make up with each other and play nice again, how horrible..

This is a no brainier people, if you really care about the future of America, you are for the dream ticket.

just remember, Hillary will and already has won the popular vote, meaning more votes than Obama in this primary, do NOT ignore Florida and Michigan, their votes will count in November! Hillary won the popular vote, face it, and with all the key big important swing states too, can America really afford to risk losing this election to the Republicans again? We are going down in flames as a nation right NOW. Four more years of Republican rule will surely bury us for good,, a McCain White House is a very real possibility if the majority of Democrats supporting Hillary are denied. Support the dream ticket, put aside your arrogance and save America. United we stand, divided we fall.

Jane what made you change your mine? And what took you so long?
I will probably vote for Obama but if she is on the ticket I might change my mind. It all depends on who is going to be with McCain because he isn't going to last more than 4 years. If he picks Huckabeee I'll probably vote for them.
She will do anything to get elected- even stay married to a lying, cheating husband just to further her career.

I think we are in a desperate situation and everyone has to remember that nothing about politics is pretty. It's all about compromise. After eight years of this insanity we need an administration that isn't in the pocket of the corporations. HA HA. OF COURSE they are in the pocket of the big corporations... this is America. But at least we can hope for some break from the extremist wing-nuttery of the neo-cons. Obama is an inspiring speaker, but the people backing him are not inspiring, and I'm not going to say any more about that. Clinton is a politician. GUESS WHAT PEOPLE, this is politics! This is an election! Like Dick and George aren't politicians of the very same sort? Just do what you can to minimize the damage to our country and our budget and our future... vote for the non-neo-cons.

I assume this is just an unfortunate edit, but you really should be careful the implications when you juxtapose "white voters" with "hard working people". ugh

Hillary doesn't have the popular vote after NC & IN. Why pick her when his campaign has been about change? He is against nepotism and having the same old scandalous couple on the ticket would mean he was a hypocrite. He should pick John Edwards or Colin Powell. Anybody but her.

Enough with the Clintons!
I'm getting the impression that if we don't stop them we will have to put up with Chelsea Clinton in a few years later, having Hillary and old Bill behind her as candidate.
People don't get her message. Who is the "hard working people" that she wants to bring back? Is she? Her message is offensive and racist.

The 1st 3 posts made interesing comments. Now lets see ... if a Barack-Hillary ticket is presented, that will be change with a bunch of extra baggage. The type of extra baggage most of the people think needs to be changed. Our household would vote for McCain, If McCain picks Mike Huckabee, we will vote Republican and probably even campaign for that ticket.

However, if McCain should have health problems down the road as so many suggest, Mike Huckabee would be President - Not a bad choice at all, a McCain-Huckabee ticket. Mike Huckabee would be an excellent choice for us.

If something happens to Barack down the road, Hillary would be president ... Now that is a choice we would not want - another Clinton in office, business as usual (?), Bill in the wings or on the front line assisting his spouse. Now that is a choice we don't ever want - Clintons that did not win in the White House again.

Pray John McCain is able to do a good job and last out the term. If not we get a good person in office - Mike Huckabee. He is certainly not a Clinton.

What we really need to think about is the Supreme Court Justices that will be appointed by the next President. We also need to think about the politicians that help the President run the country - that is the Washington that needs to be changed.

You should actually look up the numbers before making claims:
The votes

The only situation in which she has more votes is when you include Fl and Mi and EXCLUDE caucuses. Remember, he wasn't even on the ballot in Mi, but he still wins if you include caucuses, which you most certainly should.

I'm not opposed to the Dream Ticket. It's at least a way of securing the fools who have otherwise said they'd vote for McCain if their candidate wasn't picked.

We all need to keep in my mind that this election could potentially alter the course of the entire world. You think about the way things were before Bush and now after. McCain will have to pander to the crazy right in order to get elected, which means he'll have to basically stick to hardcore Republican beliefs even if he doesn't necessarily believe them.

Let's get together and turn this mother upside down

What scares me about Hillary is her "ties" with the "New World Order"... and her History.

James Earl RAy good thought. not only that but he would have to hire a taste tester. the clintons might bribe the chef to poison the food. this is hillary best chance to get the closest she will to presidency. she can maneuver things around to a point where someone will terminate obama with extreme prejudice and guess who falls right in there without having to be in an election,. yes hillary. i believe she is trying to force him to put her on ticket as vp. why else stay in and get all the dem. racist votes in wv, ky and pr. she is up to something and it smells to high heaven.
in fact obama might not make it to convention. it i were him i would double my security and hire a taste tester immediately.

Hillary did not win the popular vote. That's why she is behind in delegates. I would have an extremely hard time casting a vote for a lying sociopathic racebaiting corporate shill. I will never forgive the damage she has done to my party and country with her narcissistic demand for the White House. I will never cast a vote for her again. And I am an older white woman who supported her until she showed me who she really is. Lastly, with her as VP, she will only be a bullet away from the White House. I doubt that she could resist the temptation. Sorry, once the trust and respect is gone, only anger is left. There are several good women who could take the VP role and be in a position to run in 8 years. I hope he will consider Granholm, Napolitano and Sanchez. Enough with the Clintons! Get them off the stage!

The "dream ticket" is an "in your dreams" ticket. Take the rock solid anti-candidate vote for each. Add them. That is the vote you will never get, even before the race starts. Generally, party professionals avoid any candidate with solid negatives. These two are breaking new ground in negatives.

A smoke-filled room might be a cancer risk but it produces better candidates.

It's a great idea! I have struggled with trying to choose between them. I hope the party leaders appreciate that gold and silver make a super make a wonderful alloy. It would cinch a win over the Republicans.
