Johnny Boner isn't in a position to demand anything, he doesn't control "Congress." He's barely in control of the Republican rabble in the House, as far as that goes. He needs to show more respect for his President, or he'll be slapped down again and then forced out of the Speakership by his ambitious rival Cantor.

There's no reason to change this rule, and Republicans are just desperate to grab an issue and use it against the President in an election year. They don't care about Catholics OR contraception, they just want Obama out.

The Crying Orange Man is going to be crying harder when this is all done, at least if he keeps spouting this BS.

Cry, Johnny, cry!:)

BTW, the headline is as dumb and illiterate an example of writing as I've seen on a Topix thread, and that's saying something. Who is "Bam?" Why those extra 'As' in there? Did you ever get past fourth grade in your education?

Politicians almost always tell people what they want to heae. Why, to stay in power and get the perks thereoff.

Now the question ... if you let a church (religious organization) apply it's beliefs to any institution will you allow Mormons, Muslims practice poligamy? Should religion be give the freedom to do anything it likes?

More lefty obfuscation...

It isn't about anyone having to take contraception or the coverage; it is about government violating First Amendment religion protection. If Øbama tries to enforce the mandate, either or both of two things will happen--the Supreme Court will strike it down in a 9-0 decision and Øbama will have alienated a large swath of the Catholics that voted for him as well as many other religious voting groups.

they should be held to the law of the land, unless they form a commune and live off the grid with each other, in which case, they can do whatever they want.
(Polygamy doesn't really bother me as long as everyone is consenting, and they usually are.)

It is not a requirement for churches. Catholics and other religions voters will vote for Obama because that will not stop them from voting for him. Wishful wanting though.

Should a business owned by a church (or any religions group) be treated, under the law as a business or as a church?

The 1st Ammendment states "Congress shall make no law respecting (concerning; regarding) an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; ...

If an establishment of religion owns or operates a business or owns property is it then exempt from any federal law (and by extension state & local laws) or regulations? Think of the implications, taxes, licences, zoneing, fire codes, civil & criminal law, etc. etc. Does "free exercise thereof" apply only to religious ritual or does it apply to any actiity the religion does?

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Sagittarius

Relationships have been going through through testing times since the Solar Eclipse at last month's New Moon in Gemini on May 20. Events may force you to reevaluate the state of a partnership. You may even decide that you need to make some major adjustments if things are to carry on as you would like. During the coming fortnight leading up to the rare second New Moon in Gemini, this may feel like a crisis, but that doesn't mean you should abandon all hope or throw out the baby with the bathwater.
