Most interesting. First let me say that as far as Caribu are concerned, they're quite tasty. Second I never ate Polar bear, just their cousins. Third, it will take at least 10 to 15 years for that oil to get to your local pump. I'm good with that, but what do we do in the mean time?
Start building the refinery’s they will take several years to come one line too. The whole point is if we had started doing this 5-15 years ago back when people like Bush, yes that’s right Bush were telling us we had to, they be online now.

Until we start doing theses things, Gas Prices aren’t going to go anywhere but up.

I left the Republican Party and became a Libertarian in the '80's because the left their core beliefs and principals on the floor of the back room.

What happened to LIMITED federal government ?

What happened to sound fiscal policies such as a federal balanced budget ?

What happened to keeping the government OUT people's private lives ?

What happened to free market economics.

The Republicans deserted all those ideals, and since they don't reprent me anymore, I joined the Libertarians.

I have voted for the Libertarian Party candidate for President in 1992, 1996, 2000 & 2004. And I will vote for the Libertarian candidate for POTUS again this year. If the Republicans want my vote back, they are going to have to get back to their core values and stop being Democrats Light.

PEACE !:)

Lack of majority support both in party and/or in forum resulting in either defeat or need to form compromises.

You can blame the party or you can blame the forum, either way your joining loser 3rd party removes your voice from the Forum, Creating that lack of majority support which caused the problem in either case.

So in truth, you and people like you are to blame, for effectively taking your cards effetely out of the fight, leaving the rest of us in the minority.
There aren’t enough Liberians to form a 3rd party, nor is the United States predisposed to support 3rd parties, basically because the way our electoral system is setup, tends to filter out any party but the 2 most dominate in the forum from winning.

This is basically done because, you general want something like a majority or as close as you can to it, to hold power, not simply the largest minorities. In other words in a large and diverse country, You need compromises to take place at the lower level among the more similar groups, before they go to fight with the other more different groups.

Otherwise you’re predisposes to end up with extremists that frequently alienates the large majority against them, which is not partially good for their ability to governor nor is it partially good for our ability to live together.

"Owner of Fox News and NY Post, Rupert Murdoch, may endorse Obama over McCain."
----
*Ultra conservative Rupert Murdoch and his wife, Windi, not only attended an unabashedly liberal party for Arianna Huffington, but he was reportedly overheard at the function praising Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

- Value of FauxNews in dollars, 100s of million.

- Financial Worth of Ruport Murdoch, 6.7 billion.

- Knowing every time bushbots watch FauxNews they put more money in the hands of someone who will donate to Obama.

Priceless!

All of the American Media is owned by about 4 people, most all of them are Liberal.
So to be quite frank you watch just about any network, that will consuetude to donation to Obama.
What’s your point?

No, he should be applauded for pointing out the flaws in the whole delegate system.
The fix is simplicity, not more patches.
A) National primaries for all parties. Popular vote wins.
B) Popular vote should carry the main election as well, and the delegate system should be suspended unless and until a "national crisis" demands its reinstatement.
Political parties are not governmental agencies
and may choose their nominee in any manner they
wish. Each state political party, except as
governed by their consent to follow the rules of
the national party organization, are free to
choose their delegates to the convention in any
manner they wish. "Winner take all" states do
what you are suggesting, but other states have
chosen other methods for their own reasons and
that is their privilege, however we may disagree.

Nomination by popular vote would encourage a
focus on large states to the detriment of the
needs and desires of smaller states. The current
system, as awkward as it can be, forces every
candidate to think and represent himself/herself
in terms of the entire population. In essence
it is similar to the composition of the Senate
with its 2 senators per state to assure a balance
to the "tyranny of the majority." Those 2 senators
in North Dakota have the same measured power as
the 2 senators from California. Meanwhile the
House distributes power in quite the opposite
manner.

Well said. You are absolutly right. This is the premise of the electoral college as well. If the popular vote won elections, candidates would only focus on the needs of New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles. The farmer in Idaho would not have a say in anything. The foundiing fathers were brilliant.

You're assuming. But the above it a fact. So that makes it kinda hard to make points if you're basing the start of your discussion on political banter.

The other day, on the biggest US immigrant bust in history story. Someone like you posted the owners were card carrying dems.

Pretty easy to get the owners name then find his political donations. All Repubs, Grassley, GOP Party. etc. So I responded with those FACTS.

So when you get me those "all media donates to Obama" facts, we can act like it's true.

That's true for sure about the refineries. But there's one other thing that was done, the big companies bought out the little ones. Okay, no problem, but then they shut them down creating a production capability shortage. That shortage is the excuse they use to raise their prices. Same as AT&T, and now they're back anyway.

Although I may agree with the Libertarian party, I fear you've wasted a vote. there just isn't enough people to overule corporate government. Who's president doesn't really matter all that much, if it did, it would be quite chaotic every four years now wouldn't it? Congress and senate is where you need to start.
