When you strip some of their rights to award to others theres always gonna be resistance. Kind of redistributing rights? The burden of change lies squarly on the majority of people who have lived their entire lives with their own moral codes and value systems and suddenly they have to change that to accomodate someone else. People have strong beliefs they are expected to pretty much change over night in the scheme of things. All intolerance is wrong and all change takes time. What rights are straight people being stripped of by states allowing same-sex couples to marry, or by the feds recognizing the legal marriages of same-sex couples?

I don't have to run faster than the bear, I just have to run faster than you.

That is true. All the President had going for himself was this favorability, and now he doesn't even have that to rely on. You cannot do nothing for four years, and then tell people I know you aren't better off then you were in 2008, but you will be in 4 years. Americans won't buy that. It is like the April surplus they are bragging about. They have all the income tax money in April. It will be spent way before the May numbers comeout.

You're expecting people who have lived their entire lives to alter their moral compass to suit your demands. Effecting change is almost impossible and at the very least takes time. Maybe if you people didn't have such a militant approach and excercised a little patience things would fall in your favor more often? Forcing the issue is gonna do more damage than good, even if you get that coveted piece of paper you want so badly. The core of the issue should be acceptance, not forced compliance.

Bottom line is the man with the money is going to win and the President has about 23% more cash than all of the other candidates alone. It is a sad thing that even the election of a president is governed by the almighty dollar but in this case it is going to keep the country out of evil, lying, cheating and stealing hands. There is not a thing anyone can say or do to change it: Money talks so Romney walks.

You didn't answer the question. What rights are being stripped from heteros if same-sex couples are allowed to marry? You made the claim, so back it up. We've been patiently working on equality for the past 50+ years. We started with basic employment & housing rights in cities and states. Then we moved on to getting basic legal recognition of our unions through domestic partnerships & civil unions etc; again starting at the local city level, then on a state level. Now we're at the point of passing marriage equality on a state by state basis. For the anti-gays it won't matter how patient we are or how much time we're willing to wait. There is a certain segment of the population which will likely NEVER support gay rights, no matter what tactics or timing we use. Just as there are still rampant racist who support segregation today, but like the rabid anti-gays, they are a minority of the population. Every poll shows about 75% of the population supports employment protections, housing rights, and some form of legal recognition of same-sex unions; about 50% of the country supports full marriage equality. Obviously our approach is working.

I said your predictions for the election this year will be about as accurate as your '08 prediction of McCain winning. Btw, Obama leads Romney 50-43 in the latest Ohio poll. Poor Romney, he doesn't stand a chance.

Wall Street Journal... the median wage of college grads has dropped 9.6%. Hate to tell you guys and gals, but that amounts to one hell of a lot more than what Obama's promising you. You need government to get out of the way, to ignite the free markets. Fail to do that, and you will be subservient to the same liberal elite masters that indoctrinated you in college. It may already be too late.

So in other words, you can't list a single right that will be "surrendered" by heterosexuals if same-sex couples are allowed to marry.
