the mayor of llos angeles ANTONIO VILLARAGOSO in a speech yesterday stated that he was going to spend every dime from the cities budget to combat gangs and called on the president to free monies to do so.
what he failed to address in his speech was that illegal immigrants compose the vast majority of the gangs in los angeles. you cannot address one without the other! |

Wow, how far up their ass did this Tucson paper and USA Today have to dig to find these numbers?
And if this really was conducted by Gallop, then all respect for them just went out the window. Geez, our media is scary and really takes us for dumbasses!!! I was expecting the author's name to be Sanchez, or Martinez, but there was NO name. No one took credit for this fantasy fiction. BIG SURPRISE!! * * |
|
Villaragoso is addressing both issues. He is encouraging illegals to come to LA while asking somebody else to pay for what he is causing. Then he rakes 10% off the top for him and his cronies. |

Neither did they publish the questions or even paraphrase them. They are newspapers, they have an agenda and they have no honor or even any sense of common decency. |

1 1) You will note that only a mere 1,007 people were polled. However, the current US Population is 301,647,078. This “poll” does in no way represent a fair & accurate sampling of even 1/10th of One Percent of the entire US population! Point of fact: It only represents 0. 299550.22641509433962264150943 396 % of the American electorate: Hardly “scientific”, let alone a “consensus” as the USA Today would have us believe. 2) Having reviewed this so-called “poll”, one glaring omission became immediately evident: There is NO declaration of what geo-demographic area these polls were derived from. In other words, such questions as who were those polled? And where are they situated? They fail to tell us. And it makes all the difference in the world. I could conduct a “random” poll today in San Francisco which might leave you with the impression that homosexuality was the next best thing to the Second Coming; but it would hardly reflect the NATIONAL sentiment & sensibilities on the issue. This I suspect is the case here. Was this polled conducted within areas of the Country which are predominately Hispanic? Would anyone think such a poll could be impartial, or un-skewed in any way? 3) While the article seems to gleefully declare a majority of Americans are in favor of giving illegals a path to citizenship… which declaration as we have shown above is hardly merited; The fail to mention any of the other results in the poll which seem contradict their interpretation of the results. For example: When asked “Do you think the Federal and/or State Governments has/have gone too far, has/have been about right, or has/have not gone far enough]-- in dealing with the issue of illegal immigration?” The over-whelming answer by 76% on Federal, and 69% on State was NO; the Government has not done enough! And again, when asked “Would you like to see the level of immigration in this country increased, decreased, or remain about the same?” The majority replied that they would like to see it DECREASED! And finally, the concluding summary of the poll was that it found HALF of all those polled were in fact dissatisfied with our present runaway immigration, and wanted to see LESS; while only 24% said they were satisfied. And, reflecting was is no doubt the radical fringe element in our society; only 3% stated that they wanted to see MORE immigration occur. 4) Finally, I have to add the age old warning “caveat emptor”(let the buyer beware) when speaking of the current Gallup Organization. Detroit no longer produces “your Father’s Oldsmobile”; and neither does the Gallup Organization produce the once well respected and world renowned “Gallup Poll” of its impeccable founder & predecessor, George Gallup. Sadly, since the death of old man George in 1984; his children have made many a change to the once trusted organization which calls into question the continued reliability of the organization and its results. In conclusion I would remind everyone that politics in America was never meant to be decided by polls anyway. And the only truly accurate reflection of the mind & will of this people is to be registered in the Ballot Box. Should such a National Referendum be held today, I am quite confident that Americans would overwhelmingly vote in favor of increased enforcement measures, to include the un-conditional deportation of ALL illegal aliens within its’ borders. And the only “reforms” needed to our immigration system is removal from office of all those who have been so malfeasant in enforcing our current laws. I would heartily recommend that instead of allowing such a notoriously LEFT leaning News rag such as USA Today to interpret the results of this “poll” for you, the reader should view it for themselves. Yes, and from the same folks who brought us the "hanging chad"! <wink> |
First of all who are the idiots who believe 78% of the people want law breakers to get away with it ? that's BS. In California's upscale communities hundreds of thousands of illegals build their additions, take care of their children , wash their clothes, and live in out buildings on these rich peoples properties. Make all illegals do what my family did and wait their turn to become an American by following the rules. Those who agree in letting people break the law should be made accountable for being stupid. Break the law and pay the price ! Get the hell out of MY Country. Illegals suck the life out of the tax system and are given everything. Law abiding citizens pay for it by higher insurance, health care, and compete for the very same air these illegals are getting at the expense of our Country. Try getting away with it in their Country ? So only FOOLS accept ANY policy to let illegals get away with breaking the law. Notify your Officials that if they allow illegals to break the law that you will vote them OUT ! |
|
The poll was taken where? Where I live everyone except the government want them gone. More importantly we want our current laws obeyed by the Government. Some of us have bought up all available rental units and converted them to private use. The constitution if upheld would cause employers to be fined much more than they are, the illegal alien holed up in the church in Chicago would have already been gone and the "pastor" and congragation would have been arrested a long time ago. Liberal pc nonsence is so transparent. |

sure theycan have a path to citizenship, after they've been sent back and get to the back of the line. why should they be rewarded for breaking the law,and the ones following the rules set back

That 78% only shows that illegals are more willing to take the poll and skew the results.

Your right we cant just go out and catch the 12 + million illegals. However we can secure our borders to prevent millions more from coming. We can create tougher laws for ones who employ illegals, and in the process catching and deporting a hundred here and there will add up quick and make a difference.

Why can't we try? Why should we reward those who breeak the law? Does everyone here also favor giving murderers amnesty? Does anyone have any principles any more? |

Sure. Better to spend what resources we have on something we can actually do. I'm all for that. We can catch some, but 12 million???? |

Don't have to, they shouldn't be allowed to be working stolen American jobs. They shouldn't get food stamps, medicaid or an education with free lunches. No drivers licences and certainly shouldn't be allowed to own American homes. Enforce those rules and they will all crawl back to mea-hee-co |
You can sure try. We can also punish the hell out anyone who employs them. |

Ain't just Liberals to create a problem via years of malfeasance, and throw up their hands in mock frustration to cry "The problem is just to big! We'll just have to acquiesce to it!" Ah, but the solution is much simpler than what our Leftist friends would have us to believe. We had a coyote infestation problem in our communities not long ago. And as with illegal immigrants, there were defeatists running around saying the problem was too big, and the numbers of coyotes were in fact enormous. Farmers knew what to do... the simply dried up all the open wateing holes, and fenced off any open food sources and the coyotes soon moved off. The same needs to be done with these two-legged "coyotes"; cut off their food & watering sources here, and they will extricate themselves. |

I do not believe this poll at all! last poll i heard (from abc news a liberal network at that) said that a high 60 percentile was against amnesty! Of course its always how you ask a question.
