As It Stands -- Presidential libraries, charitable foundations,...

So let's see if I have this right. If I make a big enough donation -- say six-figures -- to our 43rd president's yet-to-be-built library and museum complex, then I can expect to hob knob with movers-and-shakers ...

Theodore Fulton Stevens (born November 18, 1923) is a notoriously pissy, out-of-touch drama queen and U.S. senator from Alaska. He is also a dick.
Ted Stevens is best known for several things, none of them honorable. Among them: blatant unfamiliarity with modern telecommunications yet still introducing bills concerning their governance; championing very expensive, highly wasteful projects for his home state; pitching a bitchfit on the Senate floor when those projects are voted down; and bribery.

Your article’s depiction of the relationship between Canadian entrepreneur and philanthropist Frank Giustra and former President Bill Clinton is inaccurate. It recycles factual errors and false innuendo from past inaccurate media coverage which subsequently has been corrected on the public record.

The facts on the public record, which your due diligence should have realized, are:

Frank Giustra has a 25-year track record of conducting highly successful international business transactions, long before he ever even met President Bill Clinton.

Former President Clinton had no involvement in the business agreements between Frank Giustra and private entities in Kazakhstan for uranium assets. These agreements were concluded after many months of negotiations that significantly predated President Clinton’s visit to that country. Equally important, these negotiations were not with the Kazakhstan government – and included market value payment for the assets involved.

Mr. Giustra’s relationship with former President Clinton is based on their shared global philanthropic interests – nothing more, and nothing less. The amount of funding that Frank Giustra has contributed in support of activities related to the Clinton Foundation, and precisely how the funds are being utilized have all been transparently communicated to the public.

Specifically, as public records show, the initial $31 million contribution you mention was targeted to support the Clinton Foundation’s global AIDS initiative. The subsequent $100 million contribution was used to create the Clinton-Giustra Sustainable Growth Initiative (CGSGI), a program geared towards supporting poverty alleviation and economic sustainability initiatives in developing world countries where natural resource extraction plays a major part in the local economy. The specific initiatives being funded, the funding amounts and the local partners involved with the CGSGI have all been publicly disclosed, with great specificity, since March of this year.

I respectfully urge your publication to check the facts that are readily available in the public domain with respect to Mr. Giustra.

Norman,
First off, you are a company spokesman with an agenda, and that is not to let past events regarding your relationship with ex-president Clinton embarrass you or your client/associate Mr. Giustra.

What you call innuendo, was opinions by politic writers who followed the events you dispute.

Point out ONE factual error, and while your at it why don't you trot out your list that proves there are factual errors? You spent enough time writing this email, what's a few more minutes (or hours)?

When you produce that list, I'll be glad to produce another list that defends what I said.
I realize your doing your job, but I respectively like you to know that I'm entitled to my opinion, and will defend what I suggested as "behind the doors dealing."

Mr. Giustra is a businessman who has supported Clinton in numerous ways, and their relationship went far behind being two people with global interests (unless your talking about making a lot of money overseas.)
