Obama is a populist candidate while the Hildebeast is an old guard elitist representing the status quo. It's a shame that the 'yap yap yap' Hildebeast supporters have not come out the rain yet.

Most disturbing," the complaint says, "was the intentional refusal by the Commission to review, assess, or further investigate clear evidence of illegal actions taken by Senator Clinton (directly and through agents, including the President), while at the same time purporting to forever exonerate Senator Clinton, her 2000 Senate campaign, and their agents of any possible wrongdoing" in connection with Paul's contributions.

Paul contends Sen. Clinton's participation in soliciting performers and planning the Hollywood event would make his more than $1.2 million in contributions a direct donation to her Senate campaign rather than to a joint fundraising committee, violating federal statutes that limit "hard money" contributions to a candidate to $2,000 per person. Knowingly accepting or soliciting $25,000 or more in a calendar year is a felony carrying a prison sentence of up to five years.

Paul points out Sen. Clinton's legal team and a judge have made a point over the past six years of insisting that she had no knowledge of the preparations for the Hollywood event, including at the Rosen trial. Clinton-appointed U.S. District Judge A. Howard Matz declared the senator had "no stake in this trial as a party or a principal" and was "not in the loop in any direct way, and that's something the jury will be told."

But since the conciliation agreement, Paul has recovered from U.S. attorneys a videotape he made of a July 2000 phone call he claims shows Clinton taking an active role in the production of the fundraiser.

Meanwhile, Paul ? who claims former President Clinton destroyed his entertainment company to get out of a $17 million agreement ? is petitioning the California Supreme Court to review a recent appeals court ruling upholding a decision to remove Sen. Clinton from the case.

I hope that Obama supporters and those who are undecided will look past his oratory skills to some of the real issues such as his voting record.

Those who have done research on Obama's voting record know about his "oops" and "present" votes in the Illinois senate and him dodging the Iran resolution vote in the United States senate. He has been planning to run for president for several years and has been basing many of his votes on how he wants his actual voting record to read. It is well known that senators have a difficult time running for President because opponents can use their voting history against them.

If Obama gets the presidency, will HE change? One of his personal goals will be to win a second term in 2012. ALL people who vote for him should take the responsibility to speak out if they see a pattern emerging of his decisions being based on what he wants his record to read instead of what is best for our country.

Obama has continually criticized Hillary by repeating the same statement, "I have always been against the war and Hillary voted for it." However, he accepted endorsements from Ted Kennedy, Joe Lieberman, John Kerry, Jay Rockefeller and Chris Dodd, and each of these senators voted the same as Hillary did.

Regarding the important Iran vote in September 2007: 48 of our 50 senators cast their yea or nay vote. Obama chose to stay on the campaign trail and dodge the vote. A reporter asked him why he missed that important vote and he just said he apologizes for that. So, what we have is that he spoke out against the Iran resolution and didn't vote against it. McCain was the other one who dodged the vote. Hillary was the only one of the three candidates who was willing to stand up and be counted.

Peter Wallsten, a Los Angeles Times staff writer, wrote an article on Jan. 24, 2008 entitled, "Obama said oops on 6 state Senate votes. I was interested in reading it because Obama didn't go to Washington to cast a vote on the Iran resolution, which he had spoken out about it. When a reporter asked him why he missed that important vote, he apologized for it and dropped the subject.

Since many people may not have read the article, following is most of it.

Barack Obama angered fellow Democrats in the Illinois Senate when he voted to strip millions of dollars from a child welfare office on Chicago's West Side. But Obama had a ready explanation. He goofed. "I was not aware that I had voted no, "he said that day in June 2002, asking that the record be changed to reflect that he "intended to vote yes."

The rules allow state lawmakers to clear up a mishap if they suffered from a momentary case of stumbly fingers or a lapse of attention. But some lawmakers say the practice also offers a relatively painless way to placate both sides of a difficult issue. Even if a lawmaker admits an error, the actual vote stands and the official record merely shows the senator's "intent."

Four of Obama's admitted flubs drew little controversy. On March 19, 1997, he announced he had fumbled an election-reform vote the day before, on a measure that passed 51 to 6. "I was trying to vote yes on this, and I was recorded as a no," he said. The next day, he acknowledged voting "present" on a key telecommunications vote. He stood on March 11, 1999, to take back his vote against legislation to end good-behavior credits for certain felons in county jails. "I pressed the wrong button on that," he said.

Obama was the lone dissenter on Feb. 24, 2000, against 57 years for a ban on human cloning. "I pressed the wrong button by accident," he said. But two of Obama's bumbles came on more-sensitive topics. On Nov. 14, 1997, he backed legislation to permit riverboat casinos to operate even when the boats were dockside. The measure, pushed by the gambling industry and fought by church groups whose support Obama was seeking, passed with two "yeas" to spare – including Obama's. Moments after its passage he rose to say, "I'd like to be recorded as a no vote," explaining that he had mistakenly voted for it...The senator who led the opposition to the gambling measure, Republican Todd Sieben, said he took Obama at his word that the initial vote was an error. But Sieben also said the thin margin of victory was a sign that perhaps there was more to the vote than met the eye. "He was obviously paying attention to this vote. It was a major, major issue in the state, and it was a long debate," Sieben said. "The inadvertent Oops, I missed the switch – I'd be kind of skeptical of that."

On June 11, 2002, Obama's vote sparked a confrontation after he joined Republicans to block Democrats trying to override a veto by GOP Gov. George Ryan of a $2-million allotment for the West Chicago child welfare office. Shortly afterward, Obama chastised Republicans for their "sanctimony" in claiming that only they had the mettle to make tough choices in a tight budget year. And he called for "responsible budgeting". A fellow Democrat suddenly seethed with anger. "You got a lot of nerve to talk about being responsible," said Sen. Rickey Hendon, accusing Obama of voting to close the child welfare office. Obama replied right away. "I understand Sen. Hendon's anger...I was not aware that I had voted no on that last – last piece of legislation," he said.

The article ends with Hendon saying he is supporting the senator all the way. He said, "it happens" that senators press the wrong button. But he was quick to add: "I've never done it."

You're right. Hopefully, election reform will become an issue, and politicians will be limited to $$$ spent and a shorter time to campaign.

He has spent so much time campaigning for President he hasn't had time to call hearings for the Subcommittee on FR or to even vote on important bills (like to ban water boarding).

Frankly, IMO, none of the front runners are Presidential.

Hey stop being a racist hater! Obama will bring hope and change and unite us and the country and then the world. And we will all live in peace and harmony and he will eradicate poverty and war and no one will ever feel unhappy ever again.

I know he will do it because he inspires people and gives them hope.

Clinton's NAFTA-gate? Posted: Thursday, March 06, 2008 3:37 PM by Domenico Montanaro
Filed Under: 2008, Clinton, Obama
From NBC’s Domenico Montanaro
Per the Toronto Globe and Mail, in a story that was the lead on the paper’s front page today, that call to the Canadian embassy was actually from the Clinton campaign, not Obama’s:

“Mr.[Ian] Brodie,[PM Harper’s chief of staff], during the media lockup for the Feb. 26 budget, stopped to chat with several journalists, and was surrounded by a group from CTV. The conversation turned to the pledges to renegotiate the North American free-trade agreement made by the two Democratic contenders, Mr. Obama and New York Senator Hillary Clinton.

“Mr. Brodie, apparently seeking to play down the potential impact on Canada, told the reporters the threat was not serious, and that someone from Ms. Clinton's campaign had even contacted Canadian diplomats to tell them not to worry because the NAFTA threats were mostly political posturing. The Canadian Press cited an unnamed source last night as saying that several people overheard the remark.

“The news agency quoted that source as saying that Mr. Brodie said that someone from Ms. Clinton's campaign called and was ‘telling the embassy to take it with a grain of salt.’

“The story was followed by CTV's Washington bureau chief, Tom Clark, who reported that the Obama campaign, not the Clinton's, had reassured Canadian diplomats.

“Mr. Clark cited unnamed Canadian sources in his initial report. There was no explanation last night for why Mr. Brodie was said to have referred to the Clinton campaign but the news report was about the Obama campaign.”

So...What is the point of this article? What conclusion has the author reached?
I am more concerned about a disturbing piece of info I recently learned...
David Axelrod-Sen Obama’s campaign manager- has a stellar reputation for advising his black candidates on how to ‘shape’ their message & attacks in such a way to win over the white sympathy votes and black anger votes…
Everyone-sad to say even journalists- have jumped to conclusion that all the negative ads out there against Sen. Obama have been instigated by the Clinton camp.

“All’s fair in love and war and campaigning for election” in this country according to many people who in ‘real life when they are not campaigning” are inherently good people.
http://www.thenation.com/doc/20070219/hayes Check out this article in The Nation magazine
“Obama’s Media Maven” by Chrisptoher Hayes. 2/19/08 issue
Read what they (and everyone who knows Axelrod) write about David Axelrod, the 51-year-old reporter turned media consultant who is the key media strategist for Obama campaign.
Has it dawned on anyone writing these articles that maybe…just maybe…the smear tactics we have been witnessing these past few weeks against Sen. Obama were actually initiated by the Obama camp to make Clinton camp look bad? Or, maybe…just maybe…Republican campaign operatives did this.

And what about any Clinton ads that some voters may have found offensive?
Neither you nor I know which came first-the chicken or the egg.
Was the ad that some people may not have been comfortable with - an offensive or defensive move on the part of the Clinton campaign? This article provides more support for what is written in The Nation mag.
