First of all John, there was,is or never will be anyone like Jesus.
He was without sin.
He was already incorruptble.
John, you know in God's Word it say's, that which is of the flesh is flesh and that which is of the spirit is Spirit.
He said,my Kingdom is not of this world.
He was meaning a spiritual Kingdom.
My loved one's that have gone to sleep in Jesus, their body's have gone back to the dust whence they came.Their spirit has gone back to God who gave it.
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Now that is in Good's Word.
My son that was murdered, his body was found in the woods several day's after he was murdered,in August of the year 2000.
The hottest time of the year in these parts.
Don't you know that his body was so decomposed that only through dental records could they prove it was my son's body.
Now,that body is gone. That is the flesh.
His soul is alive.
God's Word tell's us that we that remain (((will be changed in a twinkling of an eye)).
That means that our body's will change to a spiritual body. What other change would that mean?
God's Word flat out say's spiritual.
50 Now this I say, brethren,***that flesh and blood*** cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but ***we shall all be changed***,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the ***dead shall be raised incorruptible***,((( and we shall be changed))).
53 For this*** corruptible must put on incorruption***, and ***this mortal must put on immortality***.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
Now John,as I read this,I can also see what happens when we are born again.
Not to be difficult, but I still would like to understand what you mean by a "spiritual body", and how is that, or is it for you, different from the soul? Or is everything ghost like?

Why not equate then with today? The Word remains the same, and a person who has spent YEARS in seminary, the pulpit, etc should be able to recite from memory.
Something else you are ignoring is that not EVERY copy would have been stolen, unless all the priests took them to one place every day to have them locked up. That would entail much travel time. So, providing that they each kept theirs, and if one got stolen, they could go to the neighboring priest and copy the verses he wanted to read. No excuse for not having the Word or a sermon.
Today you can print a Bible in minutes. Back then it could take a year. That is why you can't compare then and now if you are a reasonable person.

But we know you are not a reasonable person. A hateful one, yes, but reasonable? No.

John, you are being obtuse. Why? The two things I gave didn't contradict each other, so what's the problem?
Just showing how inconsistent you are with the Bible and the English language.

How you say one thing and do another.

No problem here, just showing what a fraud you are.

1) I said sister-in-laws MOM, not sisters' in laws.
2) Why would you call her ignorant? She was raised in the Jewish faith, so why wouldn't she know? She isn't "ignorant", but will be tickled when I tell her you said so!
awwwww...are you upset that I have been able to ask someone who KNOWS, while all you could do was give an "indirect answer"? lol
No, I told Rose exactly why.

And what is sister's in-laws? In English it would mean the in-laws of your sister. Can't you read?

And your sister's in-laws were wrong. Or maybe they got it right and you got it wrong, which would be consistent with your track record.

You really should find out what you are talking about before you post such nonsense.

Much of the destruction happened during the time period of 1948 to 1968.

Paul, any preacher who is a man of God will let the Holy Spirit lead, and in that case, no scriptures out of the bible are necessary, because it's God speaking through man. You would rather read out of the bible than hear God speak?
Now this is really funny.

The words of the Fathers are not good enough for her, but now all of a sudden we have God speaking through men as perfectly acceptable.

And the last line, "You would rather read out of the bible than hear God speak?" is telling if not chilling.

Makes one think of your run of the mill cult, doesn't it?

A preacher going on and on about one word or one verse of the Bible is man talking, not God.
No Paul,I did not say they are not men of God.
You totally missed what I was saying.
Look, preacher's do not preach on one verse **all the time.**
You know that, you just like to keep an argument goin.
God called preacher's preach what God gives them to preach, through the Holy Spirit.
Now,if it happens to be from a certain verse, then that preacher know's ((he best do God's will and preach on that verse.))
For if he doen't do His will, the preacher know's chastisment is comin.

Have you been to a Quaker Meeting? They sit there and when they think the Holy Spirit moves them they speak. After an hour they get up and leave. Not much different from what you said.

John, the only way I know how to put it is that we will have a glorified body.
I don't claim to know it all.
I reckon it's all part of the mystery of God that God's Word speaks about and we will understand it all on that last day.As the old church hymn say's,we'll understand it,all by and by.

The one thing I do for sure know John, is that I will never forget the evening that the Lord saved my soul.
I was set free from the bondage of sin.
John,I would not say this if it were not true.
I wish everyone could have that freedom.
Again,a song comes to my mind,
IT's a grand..... and glorious feeling,
just to be...... a child of God.

Hi, David did not vanishes the elephants... we did... sigh...
That is why I am talking about the moral difference... not the the style...
I know there will be a never ending arguement abt this topic, I just can't help it but laugh when I imagine God with his 2 children, one called Catholic the other Protestant constantly brickering (behind the car in the back seat...) You think if we are the parents, do we really mind ??? I will think that my children are different from each other with different personality, I will not force any one of them to become like the other (that will make twins!!) but they still loves me, no one will grow up going to jail or get themselves into trouble with the law, as I believe my education to them is the best.(in this case, I am not citing that I am the best, but I am refering to the teachings of Jesus and Church).
This may not be a good example, I apologise as I am really not an eloquant speakers like most of you guys.... I am not too good in expressing what I really want to say...
But 1 thing came to my mind as I type...
So what if anyone here wins an arguement? Will a non-christian reading this page/forum be touch by God's love and want to start a relationship with Him? What do we all gain for God and ourselves thru these? What good does it make out of this? Yes, we learn something from each other... our differences, but we gain more disagreement and some to extremes very harsh words/insults... to both sides...
I should start a topic: WHAT ARE THE SIMILARITY BETWEEN CATHOLICS AND PROTESTANTS? DIFFERENCES NOT WELCOME IN THIS THREAD.(HA HA)
Good day to all reading... Our Good Lord always bless...
Hi Crazy Elephant.

There IS a "What UNITES Catholics and Protestants" thread. And arguments are not allowed there...lol

But if someone comes to a "Divides" thread, they are expecting to see arguments, so I think they are somewhat prepared. I know when I first came on here, I thought the differences were small. I didn't realize there were differences that could endanger souls. That is why I fight so hard for the Truth. I have wanted many times to leave, but God keeps drawing me back...so I will stay and fight till He releases me to go elsewhere. I'm not fighting *people*, but rather untruths. I hope most of them realize that, and understand what the scripture means that says

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
