"Arctic ice melts to record low levels

The sea ice in the Arctic Ocean has melted to its smallest point ever in a milestone that may show that worst-case forecasts on climate change are coming true, US scientists said Monday.

..."The sea ice decline is perhaps the most profound of those cautionary tales because the models have basically predicted that we shouldn't see what we're seeing now for several decades," he added. " Telegraph

It is pretty much always worse than expected. The climate change train is coming much faster than expected.

Oh yeah, the Mississippi is so low barges cannot move and the storm pushes seawater up. The rains came too late for most of the corn crop. It is stunted from lack of rain in states where they never had to irrigate.

Remember those record temps set all over the country? Nope. Just wait.

The cranks think that if they deny climate change it will not come.

Another inaccurate climate model. How do you believe climate science can mitigate climate change when they don't have the skill to forecast climate change?

Yeah, because climate cranks and other idiots do not think human caused climate change exists, it will not happen.

BWahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha . I see lots of property loss in their future.

Guess who also KNOWS this is happening...oil companies. They are gearing up to PUMP FOSSIL FUELS when the Arctic is ice free because they are, you know, beyond all boundaries of acceptable human behavior.

"Since the dawn of human civilization, 5000 to 8000 years ago, this annual ebb and flow of melting and freezing Arctic sea ice has been more or less consistent.

There were periods when more ice melted during summer, and periods when less melted. However, a radical shift has occurred in recent times. Ever since satellites allowed a detailed view of the Arctic and its ice, a pronounced decrease in summer sea ice cover has been observed (with this year setting a new record low).

When the IPCC released its Fourth Assessment Report in 2007, it was generally thought that the Arctic could become ice-free somewhere near the end of this century. But changes in the Arctic have progressed at such speed that most experts now think 2030 might see an ice-free Arctic for the first time. Some say it could even happen this decade." TP

The arctic ice is one thing (bad) but what is happening to Greenland is another thing (catastrophic) and, then, it goes on to Antarctica where it is inconceivable (catastrophically catastrophic).

Uh oh.

We're renting space here on Earth for however long the landlady (Nature) wishes.
She doesn't find anything that happens on her ride (Earth) to be catastrophic.
When you're around 4.5 billion years old, you'll probably feel the same.

WOW that explains why you’re full of useless babble. Hay dirtling how do you manage to get around at 4.5 billion years old? I suspect that it's another case of useless babble on your part.

Wow.

That was so original.

You have to be the first person to ever take all the letters from a word and convert them into descriptive terms.

Oh wait... every third-grader gives that a try sometime.

Slewpid (on this thread) would call your post a tag-back. He hates those, and he's a much better troll than you.

Neener-neener.

btw, "hate"?

Nothing like the good 'ol standby's, huh?

At least he hasn't resorted to R for racist yet, it's probably only a matter of time before he adds that to his list.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Virgo

It's a rather low-key day with a few disappointments to cope with along the way. If you were looking forward to a social event, such as meeting up with friends, it may fail to live up to your expectations. It might even be delayed or postponed through no fault of your own. There could also be problems about how much something is going to cost, forcing you to scale down your plans to make them more affordable.
