President Issues Warning to Americans

The real warnings to Americans should be about record federal deficit spending, lack of financial markets oversight, and military adventurism in Iraq, which contributed to this fiscal mess. Perhaps Bush should call for a change in leadership style in the next presidency.

Scare tactics. Gimmick, BUSH calls a major crisis so his pal McCain and run and hide in DC to avoid a debate.

Did BUSH explain how this money crunch is any worse then the Savings And Loans failure. Did we have to stop debates, run and hide in DC, bail out big millionair banks. And last month BUSH said we do not bail out banks the econimy is sound. NOW a crisis developes? A big gimmick to avoid debate on the issues that do affet the average guy.

Hey George and Dick,we need some of that money back you gave away to your rich friends in the way of massive tax breaks to pay for all of this 'free money' you are giving away.

Since these times are so urgent and the need is so immediate,we know you won't mind if we remove all of those tax breaks so the United States government can save the day.

BUSH calls it a major crisis. Our homes went down 15% and he does not bail us out. The investments banks made all the money upfront from the little guy. The CEO's made millions. The tax payer pays his mortgage on a home that went down in value, and now is asked to bail out the big bankers who make millions. Give 700 billion to the bankers who took the risk, bankers who made the money up front, bankers who do not need a bailout. Stop the bail out call your Congressman, tell them nO. It is BULLSHIT. Did anyone pundent explain how this major crisis actually hurts the regular person. BUSH said "maybe next month you cannot make a loan". A CNN guy said that a big corporation had to pay 7% on a loan today and it was higher than last
month???? SO, a loan at 7% is good any month.

I can't believe they are trying to ask for this much money. This is equal to what we have spent in Iraq since the war started. Where the fu*k do they think this money will come from? This money has been leveraged out over and over again. THey thought the S & L debacle of the 80s was in the low billions. It is 1.2 Trillion counting interest 2 trillion easy.

This is an issue that we all are responsible for. We allowed Congress and the President to remove restrictions on the amount of debt these institutions could have. This allowed the variable rate mortgages that people took to buy more home than they could afford. These people took a risk, the banks took a risk, and the Government encouraged it. Why did we allow this? We lost oversight of these policies. Now we pay. Giving the Government oversight scares me, look at what we let the do already. The Constitution made it very clear what the Governments responsibilities are. When we have allowed them more responsibility, they have always failed.

A wise man once said that as soon as the people find out they can vote and get “free” money from the Government we will all go bankrupt.

I did not buy a new house under these rates, I have kept up my mortgage, and it is almost paid off. But now I will have to help finance those who took on the debt. Am I now going to pay more taxes? What is going to be forced on me? Will I see a return on this forced investment?

I wanted to pay off my mortgage in 3 years from now. I have saved, worked, and scrimped on luxuries to get there. I only wish others would have done the same.
